Outside the medical centre we are in we noticed one odd black sock lying in the gutter

Bright sunshine, pouring rain and high wind all at the same time just now.
Been reading a book by a local author about his recollections of times past which set me remembering when this was a real Hebridean island and not as now a pretendy holiday resort.
If you wanted to make a local telephone call there was no need to know the number. You just asked for the person by name and the exchange tracked them down.
Sometimes you would get an incoming call " Have you seen Jimmy Tandy this morning, Calum Dali is looking for him?"
There were no secrets from the exchange girls and they even had messengers primed to scour the golf course for the doctor who played golf a lot.
Not many people were know by their real names as most had nicknames like the two examples above who did actually exist.
Happy days.

Good morning from a sunny, hot and sticky Suffolk with just a bit of patchy thin cloud cover. A slow morning is in prospect as I was going round to see my mum, but I had a phone call earlier to say they were going out for a late breakfast as the Suffolk Water Park followed by a wander round the Suffolk Food Hall the other side of Ipswich where, knowing them, nothing will be purchased but they will have coffee in the sunshine overlooking the river.

Nothing nasty heading this way on the weather radar which is a pity as I need an excuse to use the car and take yet more grass clippings down to the local recycling centre. 2nd coffee & 1st breakfast needed.

Managed a sunny ebike trip to Waitrose, again with a single pannier, after a shower and before the thunder and heavy rain that has just occurred ; well predicted by https://www.accuweather.com/en/gb/national/weather-radar

Picked up the oranges along with a slightly reduced in price but still horribly expensive gluten free chicken & ham pie. Also the normal voucher offers of a free Times and two 50p's off. This week a bar of Lindt chocolate which simply took it back to last weeks shelf offer price and a bag of Frozen French Fries which helped to keep the cool bag occupied.

On the way back was slightly puzzled by my local bus following another route; either the LED destination on the back at least was wrong or the driver had got confused what route he was meant to be following.
