The window is open. For the first time in many months, a gentle waft of tobacco has drifted across from a neighbouring garden.... and it smells rather civilised.

Am I allowed to say that these days, or is it totally "inappropriate"?

I think it is fine, especially pipe tobacco. Used to b a Velvet or Prince Albert man, myself. My father smoked Bond Street, IIRC.

A classic at that no gilts or effects to hide behind just a great story and classic acting. It's Mrs 73's favourite film she loves it.
Now with the death of Sylvia Sims this year all the main actors are now gone. Though she had a starting role she was paid peanuts compared to the the men for the film. As was the practice then.
