Overcast with no wind so may get out for a walk. Could take the trike out but it means too many steep hills to get anywhere and my legs feel a bit fragile.
Nowadays I seem to be dependent on the car but while it is possible to drive I will only use it in emergency due to the noise broken springs make.
Fortunately I have no appointments I need to keep and I have enough food so no need to go shopping.
Repairs scheduled for next Monday and the garage will collect the car and return when finished. A bit tight on timing as I am booked on a morning ferry on Tuesday.
Talk of the tax year ending reminds me we got married on the last day of March 64 years ago. The date was selected as I got the married tax allowance for the whole year if married within that tax year. Mercenary but practical.

Good morning from Suffolk where it's still damp from overnight rain, but it seems to be starting to brighten up a bit as the clouds clear. Coffee & breakfast have been done, but today's plans for a ride in the Cambridge area have been cancelled due to an accident on the A14 at Newmarket causing long delays - most annoying as today looked to be the best day of the week for it.

Charles meds are working he's walking much better so now the tick is trying to keep him. Occupied as he's clearly fed up of staying in doors. We can't play with him as got to rest and trying to convince him. It's the meds that are working and he's not better is not easy Because his route is all he's gone funny about eating. So i'm having to try all the tricks to get him to eat which on the whole are working. I think we will try him with a Snuffle mat he like a good old sniff around.

@oldwheels - my parents were the same and got married on 4th April so they could get a tax refund, when that still existed. I'm also a 'tax refund ' baby, having been born close to the end of the tax year, again whilst that was in place. Oh the delights of having a tax accountant parent. And, straying into NACA territory, how many of these perks have been removed.

we just out the impact of student loan interest on our tax return. both our kids have various loans. applying for them all was a bit confusing at the start. Wifey was very bossy & insisted that I stay out of it. consequently one of the various loans for our Son wound up being in Wifey's name. she was just a co-signer but for some reason the loan is in her name & she gets her tax form in her name. our CPA prepared our tax return w/o it, asked for it & Wifey found it & it was recalculated. we now know we owe our Son $300 for each year retroactively. there was a 2? yr pause during covid so he said forget the retroactive $$ but he'd appreciate $300 this year. Wifey grumbled

I thought I would go for as the weather was fine , grey clouds with some sunshine at times. I thought I would swap my bikes around and try my Boardman Sport for a change. I set off but soon found that the saddle felt too low . I couldn't straighten my leg enough . I felt like I was Cossack dancing. When I got to my brother's I borrowed an Allen key and raised the saddle . The ride home felt a lot better. I did 12 miles.
