Running out of milk. I will have to go to the shop early tomorrow or I'll not have any milk for coffee by the afternoon.

Fabby supper of red-cooked pork (cold, sliced very thin), egg fried rice with lots of ginger and a bunch of scallions, and steamed spring greens.

It must be a day for bullace. I pruned a couple of ours, and lopped off 3 big dead branches from the old greengage, which was complicated by the fact that one of them was overhanging the greenhouse. I'm not silly enough to use a chainsaw up a tree, so I took a bow saw up and did it by hand, then chopped up the bigger stuff on the ground with the chainsaw.

I'm not that daft either. My preferred method is to start at the small end with telescopic loppers, and then gradually work my way with hand tools till the point where I'm happy to either a) drop the rest with the chainsaw or b) put in some strategic cuts and let gravity and a good gale do the rest.

Am eyeing up one of those electric mini chainsaws on a pole thing for the bits that I can't reach safely.
