Warm, muggy and occasionally sunny here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well, and have spent the morning writing and clearing up last night's shopping. I've also started getting my stuff together for Saturday, where I'm judging at the Midland Counties & Central All-Breed joint shows.

Had a lovely luncheon of two slices of wholemeal toast, one with Polish sausage, one with the last of the smoked cheddar, plus an apple, a tangerine, some pomegranate and two

Snooker has just finished, so going to head off in a bit for some petrol, to recycle the soft plastics and to go and cast my vote.

Unfortunately, you can't fix stupid.

They can be a bit sneaky sometimes and get the careless. On the A90 Perth/Aberdeen which is dual carriageway and motorway in all but name there is a short section of 50mph which can get the unaware and after miles of speeding it is hard to keep the speed down. I will probably get lambasted for writing that but they never got me at a time when I was shuttling up and down regularly.

Summer seems to have sort of arrived. Yesterday while waiting on a ferry I had to get some layers of clothing off for cooling purposes while sitting outside the car and today sitting in my garden it was equally warm.
Will it last tho? Probably not as tomorrow is supposed to be sunny but beyond could be anything.

Got a Glasgow medical appointment at 0945 which will mean a very early start but not for a few weeks yet. I could try changing it to a more sensible time but past experience tells me not to bother. You would imagine that since they stopped sending consultants to Oban they would take some account of geography when allocating times.
If I lived on the mainland I could do it in one day but in practice now it will take 3 days and 2 hotel nights. Being in Highland I do get a fair amount of the expenses back and in the past when I went as escort to my wife we got nearly all the cost back with no argument. This included a Premier Inn at an average of £100 per night.

Turned out to be a lovely sunny day lovely afternoon dog walk in an empty park. Guess everyone had gone to vote ,then followed by a lovely walk the long way to the local Sainsbury for some crusty bread. Now having a and a cheese sandwich on crusty bread. After a bit of weeding round the back , ive done what I can the rest is way too wet for a good old tidy up. Then off to the greenhouse for some watering spotted a few of the seeding I'd pricked out last week. Had damped off so replaced with what I'd left over in the seed tray.

Spectacular time to be out on the road on a nice morning with mist hanging about on the mountains but unfortunately I never seem to have time to stop for a photo.
When cycle touring I used to start about that time as it was often the best part of the day.

Welcome to world of yet another clown to pour money down the drain bailing out. Equally bad pet projects of other clowns lower in food chain. Ours from today gets to play police so get's even more money to throw away.

Spend so much time in North Yorkshire I keep an eye on news. i've been following the campaigning . No-one can argue the Grand needs some real money and leadership. But his plan would bankrupt his office. He's the one that also has also come up with free car parking all round. Again costing millions he won't have.

I ironed my white coat cos the snooker finished too close to school chucking out time, and then after, I did my errands etc.

So plastics have been recycled - I had two bread bags squished full, £50 of E10 has been chucked into the car and on the way home I stopped off to vote for the least worst clown on the ballot slip.

Now sat down with a and a biskit and thinking about what to cook for tonight with the bits that are in the fridge.

When I was full-time, I was on stupid o'clocks for years.. 03:00 / 05:00 starts. Loved it! Quiet roads (usually) and finished by lunchtime to mid afternoon.. 👌
