Fifty percent return rate, on the day in question, isn't acceptable really.Four, I'm afraid. They're only 2 years old, and we haven't had 4 eggs from them in a day this year.
Genius!
There was Pooch News then.Pooch is fine. She's guarding the workshop. She ran away when a bumblebee came in, but she's back on patrol now so she thinks she's been forgiven.

You need to split them into two houses and get them competing against each other. The more they lay the better they get fed.
Should you try it, and you get an increase in egg return, you got the tip here.
Time for a ride
No GP spoilers please either qualifying or actual race
And the increased cost to yourself is only chicken feed really.Love it! The thought of chicken egg-laying competitions..........
Then you run the risk of those laying less becoming cannibals. No, no. There would be no increased cost. The losers give up some of their food to the winners. Net zero change to food bill......

Could you handle more than one cannibal chicken.
And fewer eggs for yourself, which isn't what you want.Fair point.
I'm considering making half a dozen wooden "eggs", and leaving them in the nest boxes so that the cannibal might get a headache from attacking the wrong egg. However, that risks turning themk all broody.
