Good morning from a fairly bright, very breezy and quite chilly Suffolk. Given the louder than normal sound drifting across from the local playing field and the parking chaos round here, I guess its the annual youth football tournament this weekend.

Coffee has been had and next up is a bike ride into town to Lidl for tomorrows travel snacks and some rolls for tonight's tea. I've got a couple of free item vouchers that need to be used so all I'll be paying for is the rolls.

Sunny start but now only between gaps in the inceasing clouds. Between ☕ebike went to Waitrose.
Outbound, a rare non stop ride, required use of a rarely used cycle route to avoid, apart from crossing it, a road mid resurfacing with raised metal work.
Successful shop probably because I did not pick up a basket, bananas, 2pts milk fot 75p and free store newspaper.

I actually found the triangular sun shade at Aldi, been looking for one for some time.

I'm doing a first bus shop. Turns out it was the 136 so I'm off to Aldi. I just missed the 171 so no brunch in Brockley today.

Well bad (as my son used to say as a teenager) disappointed with Asda own brand teabags. Been buying them for decades, I genuinely love the flavour , but somethings changed, they're weaker and the taste is suddenly just ...meh.

Back from marshalling my first road race this morning. No incidents at my marshal point, although a car got into the convoy from elsewhere and one rider's going to get a telling off from the commissaires.

Back from shopping after a slight change of mind - i did a much longer ride into and around Ipswich rather than the shorter trip into Felixstowe. Somewhat knackered thanks to a really strong headwind, and the sticky cinnamon bun hasn't made it to tomorrow's travel bag as a result.

Shower and shave next and then I'm going to plonk myself in front of the TV and catch up with the BTCC from Thruxton.

I have been feeling very ill for the last two days. I will spare you the details. Tomorrow and Tuesday, I have lots more tests and then a biopsy. After that I have ten days, hopefully, of rest and peace and quiet.

@Reynard could use the trebuchet to send me some Ginger Biscuits please?

had a quote for £300 just to widen the gap between the gates ,just to cut one bricks width out to make it wider and remove the waste .
I will still have to buy and install a new post and widen the gates myself, i was quoted £900 for the full job !

Hasn't rained, despite thundery showers being predicted. A suddenly rare use of the watering can needed.

I did some fettling this morning and fitted a new rear tyre to my Townsend as well as new brake pads and give it a wash. I was unsure whether to replace the tyre or not as there is still some life left, but I'm probably taking it on a bit of tour soon, and want reliability.

Went out for about 35 breezy miles in the afternoon to check the results of my handiwork. All seems good, but I think I over-inflated the back wheel a little.

Now out for my Sunday live music fix. I've just seen someone order a larger and lime for the first time ever in real life. I'm trying to decide if adding lime to Tennent's would improve it or make it taste even worse!
