Beef stew on the slow bubble in the kitchen. A big batch so I'll have lots of lovely lunches when in the office.

Complete change of plan. Rather than a ride then an afternoon out, I ended up on a one way bike ride to Beccles, had a couple of drinks and am now on the train home. The air conditioning is bloody lovely.
It's not Ipswich and it's not Adnams but it was most welcome

Some of the pots in the shade have been watered, nature will soak the rest overnight ☔
Whatever happens, the hanging baskets will need a soak as they're under the eves so unless the rain falls horizontally from the SSW, they stay dry as a bone..

Having had an early start for me, washing hung out and the office visited to print out what I needed, there I was post second visit of the day parked to the side of a lane and decided to make a coffee.
Mug and coffee retrieved from the bag but no flask:banghead:
Exceptionally rare Ripon visit where I managed to park outside then 5 minutes each spent in Aldi and M&S for gift voucher free bananas and TV guide from the latter and apples and salad leaves from the former, the cool bag with the unused milk in it having an added purpose.
Back home in the kitchen I found the flask of hot water.
Afternoon WAH and at 4 I glanced at the outdoor temperatures, 35 in the bike shed; its door quickly opened.
4.40 WAH ended and off all next week.

It's been a hot, sticky and mostly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well. The morning was spent doing chores. That included putting away all the non-fridgeables from yesterday's shopping, as well as prepping a mango and a watermelon.

Had a lovely luncheon of salt & pepper baguette, tandoori turkey, Langres cheese*, fruit (see above) and a :cuppa:

Spent a little time in the garden with a book, but it was a bit too hot, and I gave up after 20 mins. Instead, I filleted the whole mackerel that I bought on YS yesterday, and put the fillets in the freezer. After, I took the parental unit to Littleport so she could make an appointment at the quack (4th time lucky!), and we stopped off at the friend I go walking with, and dropped off her share of the melon.

She lives alone, and it's just the two of us, and so a whole watermelon is a challenge for all of us!

Kitty and doggy cuddles were had.

Cat has been fed, fish stock made with the head, skin and bones from the mackerel, and some eggs have been hard boiled. Almost time to fee me.

Emails shooting round work to see where staff are if 'abroad', due to Middle East escalations. What ?

Turned on the news. Oh bugger.

Yeah. Oh bugger. The hornet's nest has been well and truly poked.

The cynic in me thinks that Israel is doing this in order to deflect attention away from what it's doing in Gaza.

What happens now is anyone's guess.
