The wind increased and blew the clouds largely away. Thankfully the shed roof was sheltered.
Post lunch car to B&Q as I had spotted they had 25% off house plants last evening, a parlour palm purchased to replace the failed fern. Continued to Waitrose for hake and carrot cake plus store newspaper.
Back home and a rather dead looking climbing shrub severely cut back, it hadn't done much for years then in the last two had gone crazy only now to look more dead than alive.

Took the family to bradgate park this afternoon for a nice walk which was spoiled as usual by mini ck 1 having a strop about something minor and mrs ck just walking off in a huff leaving me standing in the middle as usual trying to be the peace broker between the two of them constantly bickering .

Shame as 'Braggie' is a lovely place. Which car park/entrance were you coming from ?

This might not be mundane, but my Son tried out my bike today.I had to drop the seat we had quite a laugh it was dropped so much.He says it felt good,he has no space for it yet,so it's staying in Yorkshire for now.I have not been on it since cancer and vertigo,i was going to try,but now the father in law has arrived, time seems to be short.i don't think i will get two or more hours spare again.Looking after an elderly person is quite consuming. So my cycling might be at an end.

Newtown Linford end , we always walk to the cafe in the middle and back .

The Cafe must be newish cos it wasn't there last time I went*. I always preferred the 'Old John' entrance cos it's wilder and the walk up to the 'Old John' folly and across to the War Memorial is gorgeous.

*is the Cafe up by 'Lady Jane Greys' house ?

BTW the 'Old John' entrance doesn't have a road leading to it like the 'front' Newtown Linford or the 'back' Reservoir/Swithland entrance at either end of the roadway through the park..................Good hard packed paths through the Bracken though.
