Whilst having brekky, noticed a fox in the garden. something spooked it and it made a run for the hole in the fence.
Small detail, one of our cats was already near said hole so she launched herself, claws at the ready at the fox who promptly retreated to the back of the garden.
The fox tried again for the hole and got the same reaction from our cat, so he went very wide of her and took off down the drive - !

My last day in Campbeltown completed. Went to Springbank this morning for my tour. I have also got a miniature to take away and one of those fancy glasses for smelling the whisky but are impossible to drink from without a double-jointed neck. Afterwards I went to a cafe for a bite to eat before cycling to the Mull of Kintyre lighthouse. I didn't actually go right to the lighthouse as the last couple of miles is scarily steep and it would probably have taken a couple of hours to walk back up again.

I then went around Southend where I bumped into the Dutch hikers that had been staying at the hostel last and had a drink with them at the hotel in Southend. It wasn't actually open, but they opened for us as the hikers were desperate for food as the cafe listed in their guidebook closed a few months ago.

I detoured out to Machrihanish before returning to Campbeltown. Running total now 109 miles. Today was harder than yesterday. The climbs to Mull of Kintyre are really tough. I probably need a new 28 tooth chain wheel and new brake blocks by now! It was also pretty stormy in places.

I thought it was about a renamed pub and I was thinking how often that fails. Let's hope people don't forget about it now that it's got a less memorable name.

Shopping done mid morning and used the bike ride as an opportunity to also pick up the train & cycle reservation tickets for the homebound trip on Thursday as I've decided to have a one way ride out for lunch.
Lunch of a slice of toast & marmalade was followed by another pootle in the sunshine. This was followed by a couple of hours sat in the shade with a book, the radio, a mug of coffee and a pint of squash which seems to be becomming the preferred way of spending the late afternoon in this weather.
Expect more of the same on Wednesday.

Done a bit more on the Cellnet Reynard 893 - Toms Toyota. Namely working on the colouring / shading. It's starting to look decidedly 3D. Really pleased how it's coming on. In terms of the drawing side of it, still got the air restrictor and left rear tyre to add in, but it's complicated and I'm something of a chicken LOL!
