Bike delivered, some old wheels I'd sold collected, and the day's work is done. I've got a few days off.

Party 4 of 10 if my neighbours' wedding has started. This evening we've got a lady Sufi singer plus band accompaniment. She's got a set of pipes on her.

I still have a whole box of Rockingham Motor Speedway branded foam earplugs... ;)

It's been a mixed bag weatherwise here chez Casa Reynard - rain very early doors, then warm, humid and occasionally sunny.

Did not sleep well, ergo feeling rather meh. Had a lovely morning in the company of a friend and her two dogs, walking around the local playing fields and on some nearby trails.

Other than that, I've had a quiet day. The main task was adding more ties and supports to my tomato plants - the recent rain has made them go a bit bananas. They've nearly doubled in height and have set a stupid amount of fruit. Also dosed all my planters with some liquid fertilizer.

Have spent the afternoon editing what I wrote yesterday. I've also been backing up some of the digital elements of my archive, only to be somewhat hamstrung by both laptops not liking the memory card reader. They like it with a 1Gb SD card in it, but not with a 16Gb SD card in it. Very odd. My Thinkpad has a dedicated SD slot thank goodness, so that works, but my Vaio doesn't, so I need to try and remember where I've put my spare USB keys.

TBH, I really should get a dedicated external HDD for my archive, as the two that I've got are chock full of other stuff.

Currently watching Today at the Test. Soon be time for the football.
How did you get your tomatoes to go bananas, and what do they look like?

Last week I mentioned that I was waiting to find out how my niece got on with her Masters - today I found out that she passed with a 2:1 which, with the marks she received, would have been a 1st if she hadn't had to repeat the first year due to illness. This means she can now take up the funded PhD offer in Manchester.

One very proud uncle

I love it when discount codes go wrong. I've ordered something from High5 on clearance which isn't eligible for their current 30% off everything else, added in a cheapo item to take the order value over the free postage minimum, applied the code and...30% off the whole order so free postage and a total order value £3 lower that the item I wanted ^_^
Added to which they've got their stock levels wrong so I'll get the newer version of the clearance item at no extra cost!

Time for a hot chocolate.

A very hot and humid day today.

Another day at work survived. My laptop refused to recognise the external monitors for whatever reason this morning. I had to track locate the IT tech who wasn't where he was supposed to be. A firmware update on the docking station restored normal service. Good job it happened when I was in the office!

Another twenty miles cycled after work.

I couldn't sleep so I've drunk a pot of tea instead. This means that just after I eventually go back to sleep, I'll need to get up again and go to the toilet.

A blackbird was singing heartily from around 3:15 but moved to another song branch some distance away about half an hour ago so I could only hear him faintly. He's gone even further now so after a brief gull fly past I can only hear a magpie clearing its throat. And an early plane heading for Heathrow.
