Saturday was Vanessa's day. Cumbria to J19 on M6.
A field in *wich since then.
Not much cycling since.

Few k to Church then round the corner for Sunday lunch. Altogether lazy time.

Today cycling around looking for a launderette. Been away nearly 2 weeks - there's a lot needs laundering.
Also cycled around *wich and other nearby towns.
Reduced to a Subway lunch, things have got that bad.

Kentucky is quite a source of humor to Illinoisans, at times. As I am sure we are to them.

I worked in Kentucky for a while. Several weeks, fixing a quality problem, felt like a lifetime. I pissed everybody off so they sorted the problem and I could leave them alone.
Fishing, college sports and alcohol all seemed to take precedence over work. That and everybody being somebody's cousin and or ex.
Made North Wales seem quite normal.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
went to the surgery but the chap i saw is not qualified to do anti depressant meds so he had to contact the surgery who phoned me back later and changed my meds.
Washed and cleaned the car and whilst doing that the hospipe sprang a leak soaking me head to foot , after i fixed it i was rinsing the car down the surgery rang back so by the time that was done the car had dried all streaky .
T cut the very slight marks made by the roof bars as its a courtesy car so im am trying to be very careful with it.
Washed a couple of bikes and found the commuter had a flat tyre so changed the tube as i reckon one of the patches must have a micro leak.
The bolt holding the brake cable tight is rounded so its never going to be perfect so i need to find one that fits .
Still not been for a ride and i cant see it happening today now as only just had tea .

Morning.
A bit sunny here. A friend is bringing his bike round for me to have stinker with it. The steering doesn't and the chain is a bit tight. I've got a new chain and hope that the head bearings just need cleaning.
I'm still waiting for some bits for my Planet X bike. I think they are walking down from Scotland with the parts.
A bit of a premonition there as it did turn out to be a right stinker. The Shimano 105 head bearings are dry and the nut is really tight. Even with a 32mm socket and breaker bar I couldn't undo the nut. I had to be careful as the forks are carbon.* Managed to fit a new chain but found that the bottom idler on the rear mech had a broken tooth. Any resistance on the chain when in the largest sprocket would cause the mech to be pulled into the spokes. Too much play in the mech. Finally the seat post is seized! Aluminium into aluminium.

It's been a very warm day here chez Casa Reynard, albeit an overcast one after a sunny start.

Slept well. Had intended a quiet day, but the best laid plans of mice and Reynards often gang agley... The bullaces (or are they damsons?) that I foraged the other day were showing signs of going over, so my morning was vacuumed up by preparing fruit for another batch of jam. And these ones are a bit arsey to stone, so they took a while. I also added half the quantity of greengages to up the sweetness factor without changing the ratio of sugar to fruit. I also managed to squeeze in doing a load of laundry.

A quick luncheon of marmite on toast saw me off to a friend's place to deliver some fruit and home cooked food (curry & cake), and to pick up some stuff she wants taking to the tip. I need to do a tip run later in the week, so saves us both going.

Stopped off at the community orchard on the way home, and picked another 6lbs of greengages. The warm weather is ripening them quickly, and quite a few people must've picked fruit yesterday as there was a lot less compared to Saturday. I ate a few whilst picking (and had a greengage-induced wardrobe malfunction requiring of a clean t-shirt), and I also ate a handful of some lovely sweet backberries and a St Everard apple. Again, those have ripened a fair bit since Saturday (the one I ate was VERY nice), so I picked about half a tray's worth. I am thinking apple fritters... :hungry:

All the fruit I picked has been stored in the utility room. All the planters have been watered. Cat has been fed. Supper is in the rice cooker and in the poppity ping.

Currently having a nice :cuppa:
