Hercules has an appointment with the Cowboy Doctor later today.
Hopefully it will help clear up a rasping bearing noise, a mysterious electrical fault and include a general run over with an oily rag.

Well a significant rebuild of the motor and so on was necessary.
Extensive surgery of the wallet will follow.

Anyone want to buy a recently serviced Cowboy E-Bike? Excellent condition and a joy to ride.

Litter picking today,I had dropped out due to father in law needing looking after. But I needed some time to myself.Well I did one bag and a bag of wine bottles.Got to say we have some shoot people who do not care about their surroundings.

at least they aren't broken. alcohol gives me headaches. really surprising how some ppl can drink so much

we have a similar problem at our parent's house. first thing I do when I check on it, is pick up trash. even the landscaper is a jerk, they just mow the trash, making smaller pieces & spreading them everywhere

on 1 trip this summer, someone had left a large blue garbage pale full of empties ... what the heck!? :cursing::wacko:

And so it came to pass the iron entered the recycling bin at B&Q. Slight diversion to get there as the A59 works had closed the footway.
Then into Aldi for salad leaves dated 26th and to resolve a shortage of oranges and pork loin.
On the way back into the Co-op as I had convinced myself I had misread the price labels. I had as a pair of chicken breasts were £2.19 and I had a 40p app voucher to use.

This evening's hot chocolate has just been made.

Other than the planned domestics, very little has been done except for a bike ride (which was more of an excuse to catch up on a podcast backlog while out) and to water the plants when I got home. One little annoyance was the puncture picked up on the way home and having to walk a few hundred yards to find a quieter place to fix it - I was on the obstacle course shared path with the A14 traffic thundering past about a yard to my left at the time.

A mostly mundane day (as most of mine seem to be!). I was working until 1. A work colleague's brother (in his 50s) died suddenly this morning. A bit of shock and I believe he has three young children and the parents are still alive.

It's been one of those horrible thundery days that give me a headache.

I went out to run some errands after work and then I assembled the new chest of drawers I had bought.

I drove to the beach for a coastal perambulation this evening. Lovely sunset.

Tomorrow is the busking festival in the town but I better go home and put the finishing touches to the small patio area I was working on for my parents. I also want to remove the bottom bracket from my stricken Raleigh and work out the length so I can order a replacement.

Now that I feel motivated to go out on evening rides again, I want this bike fixed asap as it's got the hub dynamo and good lights so is ideal for coming into Autumn/Winter.

It's been a warm but largely overcast day here chez Casa Reynard.

Did not sleep well on account of being pretzeled around the cat. That made my lower back rather unhappy, so I had to get up (without disturbing the cat) and resort to some own brand voltarol-type stuff. I must've drifted off eventually, because I overslept.

Watered all the planters this morning as I ended up not getting around to it yesterday. After, I spent much of the rest of the morning and a good chunk of the afternoon de-cluttering the garage. I didn't end up doing the bits I wanted to do, namely move the stuff that's currently blocking the main up-and-over door so that I can wheel the cutting deck outside and sharpen the blades without the sparks potentially landing on stuff that's a bit flammable.

That was because I noticed that I couldn't actually get to the power socket to plug the damn grinder in. Mum and I are both to blame - stuff (garden tools, mops, brooms, bamboo / hazel canes etc) gets chucked into that corner because it's convenient. Anyways, I now have another pile of stuff to take to the tip. Bald brooms, broken mops, a mouse-eaten carpet, two pairs of perished wellies... And everything is now neatly stacked, and I can reach the wall socket. Result!

At teatime I toddled off into town for groceries and other bits, stopping on the way out to drop off a portion of crumble for a friend. Had a sniff around Waitrose (nothing of interest, but grabbed a couple of copies of their newspaper), popped into Savers (needed new hairbands and scrunchies) and Aldi (herbal teas, but also picked up four avocadoes on sticker), before heading for Tesco.

Cleared the list (bread, milk, sugar, onions, garlic and a box of chocolates for a friend's Cake Day), and had some good luck on yellow sticker, picking up a pot of parsley, cod fillets, squid rings, smoked salmon, coleslaw, and a kilo tray of sausages.

Lovely supper of a sandwich filled with cold sliced burger (the last one left from the other night) and a dab of mustard, and then apple & blackberry crumble with custard was had whilst watching thirty gals playing with a funny-shaped ball.

A quiet evening is planned. I am currently watching Bangers & Cash.

In more beverage news, I'm out of loose tea. Tesco's Red (Original) and Gold seem to be permanently unavailable, which suggests they have discontinued them but haven't got around to announcing it yet. I think I may have to go to Marks & Spencer because their Gold tea is pretty good, though pricy for everyday consumption. Or maybe I could see what Waitrose have to offer. If I can face going in there.

Tesco here in Ely has the Red leaf tea in stock, but no Gold, Assam or Earl Grey - been like that for a couple of months now. My alternative has been PG Tips - not the best but it'll do. Yorkshire tea isn't very nice, it's like drinking paint stripper. Waitrose has their own label Gold which is cheaper than the PG.

Suspect it's down to a change in packaging / packet size, as they've done all their other teas.

My go-to for teabag tea is the Thompson's Irish Breakfast.
