Full time tea drinker
Location

Tesco here in Ely has the Red leaf tea in stock, but no Gold, Assam or Earl Grey - been like that for a couple of months now. My alternative has been PG Tips - not the best but it'll do. Yorkshire tea isn't very nice, it's like drinking paint stripper. Waitrose has their own label Gold which is cheaper than the PG.

Suspect it's down to a change in packaging / packet size, as they've done all their other teas.

My go-to for teabag tea is the Thompson's Irish Breakfast.
None of the local big Tesco's have the Red or Gold available but some have 125g Assam loose tea.

Ever since John Lewis used their customer services as an obstructive barrier over a failed delivery about 18 months ago, they've joined LiDL on my veto list, so by extension, Waitrose is out.

However, M&S Luxury Gold mixed 50/50 with their Extra Strong Tea works well after this evening's experiment. A 2:3 ratio might work better but I'll have to wait until tomorrow morning to know this for sure.

@tyred They don't do 3G tea here either.... Actually, I didn't know Tesco Mobile ever did a 3G deal.

There was a similar hiccup in supplies a little while back when the Gold tea got "upped" in poshness from mid range to "Finest".

I'm in no danger of running out of tea however. I have half a kilo of PG tips in my tea caddy, plus about 1500 assorted tea bags, the latter being a mix of Thompsons, PG Tips, Gold and Tetley. (If squashed packets of teabags make their way into the green bins, I'll buy them quite happily on sticker.)

If I'm just making a mug, then a teabag will do, but if I'm making a pot (as we're wont to do here at lunchtime and occasionally at suppertime as well), I prefer leaf tea. There's just less overall packaging.

It must have been a bit chilly overnight because my living room is only just warm enough to sit around in my underwear. I didn't want to put more clothes on because I would only have to take them off again when I get into the bath.

I'm a bit disappointed with my Mocha Java coffee. It's a good enough Java but there's very little Mocha to it. Oh well, I've only got another 1.8kg of beans to consume before moving onto something new.

Baked beans?
