Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Well there's tonight in Leeds, Sunday in York, then two more visits to Leeds and three to Sheffield before the end of the year.

Time to pin you down for the Yorkshire tax of coffee and cake then

Phone rang this am. Expecting some antibiotics but no, turns out the sample a neighbour delivered on Wednesday was posted into a prescription box that wasn't opened until this morning so they now need a new sample on Monday.
Ocado delivery at lunchtime and it now looks like making another one will be needed, maybe use someone else. Did get another sunflower heart feeder - looks rainproof unlike the one the birds like but will they turn their beaks up at it?

Morning.
Often announced that energy bills are set to rise this autumn. I think it's time some enterprising peep came up with a way of converting the hand cranked washing machine to a pedal powered one. Just think! You could do your washing whilst on your indoor ride!

after many weeks of my mum's patio doors not locking properly and trying a number of potential solutions such as adjusting the hinges (nope), new locks (nope), making a replacement for the rusted bottom latch plate, (nope), lots of GT-85 and head scratching (nope)... I have finally got them working again :okay: I only wish I tried the final solution first.

... which was ... ?

It's been a day of dodging the showers here chez Casa Reynard - after a night of extended rainfall.

Slept well enough this time. My morning was spent prepping a load of fruit for jam - I had some greengages left that were very ripe, and some cooking apples (Huntington Codling and Jolly Miller) that also needed using thanks to previously un-spotted codling moth holes.

Lovely luncheon of bread & butter, marinated anchovies with lemon, an apple and half an avocado, and a :cuppa:

This afternoon saw me divert into town to use the free wi-fi in the library and see if that sorted my FB video selfie woes. It didn't, but I now have the contact details for the relevant departments to get my account unlocked. Ergo I shall be bending a few ears. I also got into my old e-mail account and yes, it seems that the problem was the post I made about sharpening the blades on the mower's cutting deck with a grinder. I mean FFS, their AI algorithms have a lot to be desired...

Got home, but the test ride of Rocky the Hardtail had to be postponed on account of a biblical downpour. And even when it stopped, I'm not going to go out on roads awash with water and mud on a bike that's got no mudguards. I prefer to keep my butt and feet dry!

So I spent the time tinkering instead. Cleaned the drive train, got all the gears working (cleaning and a simple fix), and spotted a couple more things that need to be dealt with. I will need to add gear cables to the shopping list, and need to adjust the limit screws on both the front and rear derailleurs. On the front, the chain is fouling the cage, and on the back, shifts down the cassette are fine, but ropey on the way back up.

Cat has been fed, and soon it will be time to feed me.
