I was surprised at how expensive York was for the weekend after next but it turns out that it's the return to university, so that may have bumped prices up. The alternative consideration was the far cheaper Scarborough. It's definitely off season prices there.

I must have got lucky as last Sunday set me back around £40 at the Premier Inn by the train station.

The second heavy rain shower of the day has passed through. I think I'll give it half an hour to dry up a bit - which should be long enough for a cuppa - and then go out for a while.

I've been trying to downsize my vinyl collection, which is vast. However after the recent sudden passing of one of my closest friends, I've inherited her record collection, which is sizeable... I've got work to do.

What kind of music is it? My granddaughter is building up her collection of vinyl at the moment.
I hate using the word 'eclectic' but that's what she's into.... All sorts of (hate this, too...) genres..

Growing up in Birmingham’s Shirley I knew that ‘ley’ meant a clearing in the wood. Tuesday’s trip to another one, Hagley, has made me realise just how packed the area is with them, Dudley, Moseley, Hockley, Henley, Yardley, Cradley, Romsley, Langley, Frankley, the list goes on and on. I never realised this at the time.
Oh and not forgetting Tyseley of Reynolds 531 fame of course !

There's everything from Pinky & Perky to Crass. Most music lovers have an eclectic taste. Why stick to just one genre?
