I keep seeing the same homeless guy, trapsing around Peterborough, he looks like a 'traditional' 'tramp' rather than the drug taking homeless you usually see in the city.
Chatted with him for 5 minutes as we were walking alongside...
Winters coming, must be a bit daunting, I asked ?
No i love it, don't mind the cold at all..

Lovely fella, I ended with
Would you be offended if I offered something for food ?
He gladly accepted..

It's a hard life in can imagine...I've seen him over the last 5 years, he has aged quite a lot in that time.

A belated good morning from Suffolk after a late night & a lie in. Bit of sun, bit of cloud and a lot of breeze which woke me up early morning due to the direction catching the part open window making a lot of noise. Don't think I'll be out on the bike in this wind.

Coffee has been had and I'm trying to decide what to do today - if anything at all that is. There's the bits from yesterday to be put back into the car and the solar panel battery maintainer to be plugged in and that's it. I don't even need to retrieve a bin as I didn't bother to put the recycling one out last night.

You mean you neglected to take a pair of wellies?
I had the boots in the car, but didn't use them as, given the expected timings, they weren't needed. It was the near one hour overrun that caused the soggy foot problem.

I had a parcel to pick up at the sorting office as apparently they couldn't deliver it last week so I walked up to get it this morning. I had an email saying that's where it was. They didn't have it. The postman hadn't handed it back (why email me saying so?).

I'm just after catching the postman putting one of those "you weren't at home" cards in my post box, because I happened to be looking out the window at the right time. I ran out and stopped him. He had the parcel in the van. He hadn't even rang the door bell or knocked. What is the point of carrying people's parcels around if they don't even bother to try and deliver them? He said he had dialled the phone number on the parcel about ten times and it didn't get answered. I have had no missed calls. I insisted he dialled the number again and it rang. Funny that.

Same here: we've had a west-east prevailing wind along the valley for several weeks now. The current plan is to ride to Rottenburg, do the shopping, and catch the train back. And do it this morning before it rains...

Made it, although the wind was getting pretty strong by the return.

I decided to ride anyway on the basis that I wouldn't be going that fast anyway with the week's shopping on the back of the bike.

Time for a sit down with a cuppa and a dark chocolate digestive or two.
Six bikes have been treated to a full frame clean & car polish application, wheels cleaned and chains fully cleaned and lubricated. The shed floor has also been swept to get rid of the dirt and dust from the bikes.

I'm tempted to go for a walk shortly, but not until I've seen which way the approaching clump of rain goes. The other problem is the near 20mph wind with 30+ mph gusts.

I don't talk to apparent homeless ppl any more. one time, in my 20s, in a NYC subway, a shabby woman was ranting about something that I actually agreed about & I said so. I forget what she said or what I said but after I agreed with her she lit into my like a windmill in a tornado, yelling & ranting about all kinds of stuff. so, nope, I just walk on by
