Horrible wind and rain continued all day really. I did some tidying up. It was just too wet and windy to escape for a ride.

I see the powers that be are issuing their usual winter "wear hi vis and keep yourself safe from drivers who find it difficult to see you" advice to cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists. I wonder why they don't offer slow down and pay attention message to drivers which would be more useful if needed.

I decided to check out the last night of a jazz and blues festival in a neighbouring town. Horrible driving conditions along the coast. I'm sitting with my Guinness zero waiting for the band now. These events call themselves jazz festivals but it's never jazz bands!

Donated my old Ribble Sportive Racing 10 speed Campag to the Sue Ryder charity today.
I brought it (I think) 2008, rode it hard but maintained it well, cost £1200 back then, had more than my moneys worth, haven't ridden it in anger in too many years, never going to again.
Its begun to annoy me taking up space and, as my wife has just spent 3 weeks in their hospice, why worry about a couple hundred quid I might get out of it...they're more than welcome.

The earlier clump of rain passed just to the east this afternoon and the choice of walk was dictated by looking into the fridge for tea inspiration and seeing the remains of a pack of ham and the last of a block of cheese - so off to Morrisons for some rolls and a jar of small chunk pickle. With the wind at my back on the return leg it was warm enough to have to remove my jacket.

The evening's hot chocolate has been had and I've just booked my free eye test for late morning on Wednesday.
