Just finished putting preservative on one of our fences that runs twixt us and the allotments. As I was mixing two brands of different colours, it was interesting to watch how the shades varied as I progressed along the length due to my variable mixing and diluting as needed - !

The word preservative made me think of jam! I wondered why you were mixing different sorts of jam to paint your fence with?

I assure you, the wind there was very very raw. This morning, though, was still and clear, and the hills behind Calais were visible.

I'm now on the road back to London. Eurostar has just disgorged a tourist load of cars on to the M20. Why do the Belgians drive like that?

A belated good morning from Suffolk where it's been clear skies and sunshine so far. Another slow start to the day with coffee and the radio in the background.

Silverstone is on for tomorrow so I need to get some food for the day out and something for today as well, which will leave the afternoon free for a bike ride - so long as I avoid parts of Ipswich as it's a home match for the Tractor Boys today.

Touch of sun but not warming much so the loft being excavated as it neither too cold or too hot. Both those resulting in stuff being thrown into in. Four applicance boxes from it so for filled with stuff from the spare room and others on the recycling bin.
