Other way, a US gallon is 0.83 British gallons. 63.5 mpg British is 76.3 mpg US.

I thought the US pint was 16fl oz, i.e smaller than the UK 20fl oz. So if your 8 pint gallon is smaller, you won't go as many miles with it.

Though this appears to be complicated by the fact that an Imperial fl oz is slightly smaller than the US fl oz. But not enough to change the fact that you won't go as far on a US gallon.

The US is smaller thus the number of US gallons has to be greater for a given UK gallon. Take one Uk gallon, 8 pints. A US gallon is 6.66 pints. Thus I UK gallon = 8 / 6.66 = 1.2 US gallons

But they do sell wine and tequila by the gallon over there. Which I find gives me a few more miles🥂

I'm drinking imperially.

A mixed day weatherwise here chez Casa Reynard. Rain on and off till early afternoon, and then the sun came out.

Slept well. I have had another very quiet day. Did a little puttering about in the kitchen early doors, but other than that, I've watched the cycling, the NFL, listened to to Newcastle v Arsenal, and now got the snooker on the TV and the golf on the radio.

Cat has been fed (Gourmet Gold with ocean fish), and soon it will be time to feed me.

More bad news.
My daughter rang to say that they were going to the vets to say goodbye to their cat. He had taken another downturn and they think his problems might be much deeper. They think that he might have a brain tumor. I had watery eyes as my daughter told me what was happening on the phone. A sad day.

Sorry to see this, it's always such a hard thing to do. Send my bests to your daughter xxx :hugs:

So much harder when it's sudden like that. Madam Lexi is still chuntering away slowly, but then we've known the writing has been on the wall since the end of June, and that the surgery would only buy her time.

I think the rain's gone east... Should be a decent day now 👌

Have a good day
Thanks both - a very good day has been had. Turned out dry and quite warm once the sun was out.

Slightly longer than expected due to a nasty accident in one of the afternoon races and having to wait for medical cover to be re-established while a couple of drivers were taken to hospital for checks. Other than that there was some very good and mostly clean racing and entertaining commentary (David Addison not being constrained by TV rules).

Got home, in through the front door, straight through the hallway & kitchen and out the back door to move the recycling bin out to the front of the house ready for emptying on Monday morning. Hot chocolate has been had and I'm now relaxing with a beer with a second to follow if I can stay awake - it's been a very long day with over 4 hours of driving and a day of being outside in the fresh air.

Fun fact - I've been to Silverstone more times in September than I've been to Brands Hatch all year.
