Today started off okay but weather conditions deteriorated. We have a yellow rainfall and flood warning in place until 10 am tomorrow. We then have an amber wind warning from 2pm tomorrow. All fun and games on the weather front.

I've reluctantly made the decision to cancel my long weekend away cycling. It's not very pleasant and potentially dangerous to drive for 3 hours during a a gale warning and the forecast isn't hat much better for Saturday either. It cost me a cancellation fee with the b&b!

I somehow pulled a muscle when I reached round to pick something up as I finished work and it hurts to take a deep breath.

Quite a good ride was had today. Not quite sunny, not quite cloudy, warmish, and a 43 mile loop up from Fen Ditton to Ely on the west side of the River Cam/Great Ouse outwards and to the east on the way back. Including a free rollercoaster ride on the roads/droves from Upware to Swaffham Prior - I think most of the elevation gain and loss recorded on my Garmin must have come from the bumps.

Given the weather forecast for the next few days, a large amount of time will be spent indoors.

One thing I forgot about on the drive up to Cambridge was a close encounter with an Airbus A400 - looking across at the rail line as I'd noticed an Ipswich bound train and this filled the side view - note the altitude shown on the screenshot taken from Flightradar playback of the encounter time
