That's me sorted food & drink wise for the week. Lunch of a yellow sticker peppered steak slice and a mug of coffee have been had which means I'll be off out shortly as it's still mostly sunny (if breezy).
Washing machine on powered by the solar panels,..
I did the same before going out shopping and the spin cycle was just finished as I got home. Everything is now out on the whirligig drying nicely in the sunshine and breeze.

almost forgot how riveting laundromats were

I had a lovely day at the Supreme on Saturday, where I handled Snowshoes, LaPerms and Bengals in the morning, and then, with a different judge, Birmans, Norwegian Forest and Somalis in the afternoon. Was also filmed (when doing the Bengal classes) for a David Baddiel documentary that's coming out in January.

Unlikely the cats are related given their ages, but the colour and pattern is pretty common. There's something nicely elegant about a tuxedo cat.

I was offered three cats on Saturday. Turned one down (Birman) on the basis that it's longhaired and not practical, but will be following up the other two. One of them is (realistically) too old at 8 years of age, and the other is in Stafford, which is just too far to travel. But I'm keeping my options open.

after we lost our last 3, I enjoyed having a break from responsibility but Wifey really wanted another. she got a young kitten. I haven’t laughed & giggled this much in decades. good luck w/ your quest!

It's been a blustery day here chez Casa Reynard, mostly sunny in the morning and rather soggy in the afternoon.

I slept well. Didn't realise how muddy my bike and my cycling kit got last night, scrabbling for potatoes in the fading light! That said, I was back on the same (still muddy) bike this morning to go back to where I got those potatoes from, as there were still loads left. A much harder ride in the rather stiff breeze, but I wibble-wobbled home with another overflowing pannier. The only ones left behind were those that were a bit too bashed.

I now have about 30kg of maris piper potatoes. Well worth the effort if you ask me.

And easy enough in good daylight to see how the potatoes ended up in the grass verge thanks to the tyre marks in the grass and mud - looks like the driver of the tractor pulled over to let something else sizeable get past, and the trailer briefly tilted over on the soft, uneven ground, unshipping a bit of its load. The best haul of free potatoes in a fair while. And that's not counting the others I've already picked up. I noticed some red onions in another nearby verge, so I shall be going back at some point for those too LOL!

Better that than seeing them get squashed / rot by the side of the road.

Lovely luncheon of a cheese sandwich on crusty bloomer, a pear, a banana and a :cuppa:

Had a quiet afternoon doing some chores. Good job I swapped that around, as it's been hosing it down for much of the afternoon.

Now having a :cuppa: whilst watching the early evening news.

The lead on the 8 year old Exotic has fizzled out. The breeder says she's been an indoor cat all her life and isn't happy that I let my cats out. Ostensibly to "roam". I think they've really got the wrong end of the stick, because it's easy to train a cat to stay close to the house (they like to stick to the places that you go), and if the cat doesn't want to go out, then that's fine by me too. The e-mail I got back from them was very odd and brusque. Shame, as they are local to me, I've known the breeders for about twenty years, and I was at least hoping to meet the cat. Ah well, hey ho.

I was also offered an Oriental Longhair last night - for the second time this year. I'd already turned her down a few months back, and despite now being catless, I still have the same reservations - she's far too young, has some serious temperament issues, and the logistics are screwy. The fact that this cat was bred at one of the best oriental catteries in the country isn't a selling point for me at all - despite it being used as the main carrot.

Am beginning to think that the pedigree side of the cat fancy is very strange.

I'll probably end up with another non-pedigree.
