Today's cycling boiled down to 20k round trip to get tonic - essential to manage the gin intake.

It's been a reasonably pleasant autumn day here chez Casa Reynard, sunny early doors, but gradually getting greyer.

Slept pretty well. Had a busy morning doing all sorts of kitchen stuff, including a lot of prep (and roasting some veg) for a batch of soup and for tonight's supper. Also labelled and put away the jars of apple & grape jelly that I made yesterday.

Lovely luncheon of a salami and smoked cheese sandwich, an apple, some grapes and a :cuppa:

Then it was an afternoon in the garden, carrying on clearing up the storm damage. I've now removed enough ivy from the downed branches that I can see where to stick the chainsaw. That'll be the next step on the agenda - cutting up the branches into manageable pieces. I'll start with the dead stuff, which can be burned right away. It's willow, so doesn't burn hot, but that's fine when it's this mild.

The other (much larger) branch is green wood. Although it's equally critical to do, as it's blocking my access to a part of the garden I need to traverse in order to bring wood in from further out.

A pot of soup is simmering away on the hob.

I am sat supping a :cuppa: and watching the early evening news.

So the next day (Tuesday i think) tired and washed out as above. I have sinusitis and took some over the counter decongestants on Monday, missed a day Tuesday , took some yesterday...guess what, no sleep last night !!!!
4am this morning it struck me, googled the medication, yep, insomnia

I think ive had 9 hours sleep in three days

As a chronic sufferer of sinusitis, I can confirm it can be a right arse.

Don't bother with the decongestants, they're a waste of time. Use antihistamines (cetirizine hydrochloride) as they'll dry up the snottage, a steroid spray (Beconase can be bought over the counter), and paracetamol. Accupressure will help to unbung the bunged bits. The pressure points you need are underneath your cheekbones next to your nose, and the combination of the roof of your mouth and the bridge of your nose - you squeeze those both at the same time, like a pair of pincers.

Warm compresses help loads. If symptoms persist, go to your quack.

Isn't that the one where the man holds the lady close and tight, syncronising movement in a ... erm ... rhythmic motion?

And you say you can't find a lady @tyred ? If so, just who are you doing the dancing with?

Salsa isn't particularly intimate unless you want it to be. There's no shortage of people to dance with. It's not like something like ballroom where couples tend to stick to together. Everyone dances with everyone else. You will also find most are married or in relationships with partners who don't want to dance.

A fabby supper of pumpkin & roasted garlic soup, then some very posh sausages*, mashed potato, fried onions and apple sauce. I am a bit stuffed. :mrpig:

* Tesco's "Finest" with pork & beef bone marrow. TBH, worth every penny of the full £4 whack for two jumbo sausages. Of course, a YS buy for me LOL! And we couldn't eat a whole one, so there's plenty left for a nice sausage sandwich. :hungry:
