Is it me or is the world going completely mad?

A certain person, who is one of the richest men in the world, has decided to eradicate poverty. To do this he will develop complex "humanoids" ? to carry out repetitive manual tasks. For this he will get a bonus that has 1 followed by twelve zeros.

Is this "robot" going to be complex enough to plant rice in paddy fields, or pick tea leaves at the right stage, or any of the other tasks that people in developing countries get paid to do?

Is it going to stop people planting cannabis or other plants because that is what earns them the most money? Is a robot going to install solar power, pumps and pipes for people to have fresh water?

I must have overdone it with my ride yesterday. Working on our car on Tuesday and Wednesday plus the ride seems to have tipped me over the edge. I was feeling really cold this morning so I decided to have a nap and sleep it off. The first nap didn't work ,so after lunch I decided to have another, this is when Georgie decided that I needed warming up and settled on my lap for a snooze, he must have sensed that I wasn't feeling very well.

It's been a mild and grey day here chez Casa Reynard, and we escaped the rain that was forecast.

Sleep was middling. I had a very productive morning doing DIY. Replaced the draught excluder strips / insulating on one of the kitchen windows - which should negate the need for duck tape to plug the irritating draught. Did both the inner and outer casement windows, and touch wood, no draught. Still have the other window to do, but I need to clear the work surface so I can kneel on it.

Also did some small repairs on two of the upstairs sash windows - which again, has resulted in plugging some annoying draughts. I've got outer casements and inner sash. The sash guides had come loose, so it was simply a matter of tapping them all back into place. I shall check all the remaining sash windows in the coming days. It does already feel much warmer in the house.

Spent the afternoon in the garden, clearing up some more storm damage and doing a spot of lumberjilling. I've stashed another large case of cut logs in the garage, so really happy with that. It's satisfying to get ahead for when the weather isn't so conducive to doing stuff outside.

Now sat supping on a and watching the early evening news. Soon be time to listen to sprint qually from Brazil.

Miserable day.
MIlk had well thawed so the bread maker on and then a frozen food shop in Morrisons
Trolley app had said the main item I wanted was the same price in Waitrose but as I suspected the local store does not stock the size the offer was on. Did this time have the store paper.

Did it require wearing hi vis and placing traffic cones around you?

I carried out a suitable risk assessment and put up warning notices and put on a hard hat.

Half day at work today as per usual on a Friday and then I get out on parole for the weekend.

I took some excess clothes and books and bits and pieces to the charity shop after work. I carried it rather than sit on a traffic jam and it all got surprisingly heavy after a bit. I'm obviously not as strong as I used to be. I also questioned why I walked past three charity shops to take it to the one where I know the manager and had promised this stuff. Apparently, they don't get much mens clothing donations. There would be slim pickings for Accy here!

Spent the evening doing some tidying up making a mess. Now relaxing and listening to the radio.

A sort of a bitsas supper here tonight, which cleared out some space in el frigo - vegetable soup, then a feta cheese omelette, toast, and lentils and mushrooms medley with fried onions.

What a thoroughly dull and damp feeling day it turned out to be. At least the journey home was uneventful.

Home at around 14:30 and back out again food shopping 45 minutes later as I've decided to go down to Brands Hatch on Saturday for the daytime part of the BARC meeting - there is a 'night' race from around 17:00, but I'm not staying for that. The only expense will be the food and a top-up of the Dart Charge account as I've still got about a third of a tank of diesel left in the car.

The evening's hot chocolate has just been made.

About the most interesting thing I did all day was to replace a broken shoelace.

Bugger - just updating my accounts spreadsheets and checking against the bank accounts and the missing Aldi shop has been debited. No free sausages, chicken breasts, biscuits & chocolate.
