I sleep appallingly, last night no different. Positive ? I was up at 04.30 doing the kids ironing, that eases the rush between 07.00 and 08.30....when peace descends
I shall be having a nap later...

And edited to add..raining at 02.30 ish...never really heard it stop all night, worse now !!!!

Good morning from a fourth floor hotel room in very wet and miserable Nottingham. Today's view is over the rooftops with the NTU building just off to the left.

Coffee and a shower have been had, next up is breakfast in town with the train home in just over an hour. Waterproof jacket required.

Not seen it this quiet in a long time.

Lots of mid air collisions!

Morning.
It is grey and tipping down here in Upper Cumberworth.
It was sunny yesterday. I saw 3 cyclists. One was on a minty green Bianchi, the other 2 were on black bikes.

I remember when all Bianchi bikes were cerise and you only saw them in sunny weather. I also remember when all Whytes bikes were black.

Meanwhile, back to the weather: it started drizzling around 6pm last night, got heavier (anyone who watched the Wembley game last night will know that it was pretty heavy throughout the game), and I don't think it's stopped since.

Just waiting for the train to divide (the rear two carriages stay at Nottingham*) and then we're off. At least it's now merely raining rather than persisting it down so I don't have to put up with soggy jeans for the day.

* And before someone says it, yes I am in the front carriage.

nothing new or fantastic, a D90 body. it will replace my D100 eek! got that from my last employer.

it was getting unreliable. it is old & beat up

I went mirrorless with a bridge camera for my kids HS graduations & its wonderful for all kinds of things but too many menus. nice to use a regular SLR sometimes. the flash I got for the D90 is a pre-owned, like new, Nikon SB-900. I'm pretty excited about that!

the other camera I use a lot is Lumix DMZ-FZ70, w/ a 20-1200 zoom. perfect for graduations

but I can't compete with some folks around here, in the "your day's wildlife" thread. some of those bird photos & others, incl. closeups are so great & sharp
