Not a good day of news for my finances from my email inbox.

Firstly HMRC have done my calculations for the previous tax year and I owe them just over £!000 thanks to savings interest payments (the sooner I can move everything over to tax free ISAs the better, but it will take a few years).

Secondly the TV licence reminder has arrived. I know all the arguments regarding going licence free considering how little I watch (local news & 10pm news essentially), but as it also funds one of the better news websites, Radio 5 Live, Sports Extra and 6 Music which I spend an inordinate amount of time listening to, I consider it an acceptable trade off.

Leaning wall of Normanton

reported. Walking into Derby with SWMBO I thought it about time I got around to report this leaning wall.
I contacted the DBPC (council dangerous structures) and told to submit a photo. Sent it off and they are sending an inspector today. I’m sure it’s starting to lean more each week.

I'm getting a large solar panel for boat soon, it won't power the washing machine though but will negate running engine regularly to top up batteries.

wow must be a big boat, that is has a washing machine! what do you do w/ the effluent?

They "play fight" for want of a better description, it's just as well because they are over 28 inches to the shoulder, weigh 30 to 40 kgs and are bread to hunt and bring down wild boar which are common in this part of France. l hasten to add that l don't use my two for that activity !!

The property belongs to a garage block for private housing. I expect the council will condemn it and charge the residents, good luck with that.

Afternoon cuppa went down well with a chocolate cookie

Several parcels have arrived, including a chaise longue for a cat (Yes @Reynard those are a thing!) plus some lightly and not-so-lightly used tyres that I'd picked up. The chaise longue is for son no. 1's Christmas present.

Now a dilemma: I thought I'd bought one nearly new GP5000 TDF special edition tyre via a well-known auction site for a good price. But there were two in the packet. Re-checking the photos and description the seller never stated that there was more than one. Should I contact them?

Oh, and the nasty cold that SWMBO and son no. 2 had at the weekend appears to have been passed onto me as I've got a nasty throat and feel . Not good as I've a seminar to deliver tomorrow, plus a staff research workshop to host and my annual appraisal.
