A few weeks back, when visiting the mates in York, we had dinner at Yemen Heaven. Jay Rayner had reviewed it back in February, and I thought I had to eat there. We were as impressed as he was. I will definitely be back some time, need to try more of the menu… They've just won the Food & Drink Establishments Award at the Yorkshire & Humberside Family Business Awards (yes, I voted). Well done them!

Will make a note to try that, next time we’re there. Went to the Blue Barbakan last week, which is one of our go-tos in York

But of a wasted day. I had really hoped to get out for a few miles, but it was extremely windy with horrific showers.

I couldn't motivate myself to do much else, but I did catch up with some reading.

Popped out out now for some live music 🎶 A different barman from usual and this pint of Guinness is xx(

Guinness are bringing out a 60/40 pint in pubs , 60 zero % then topped up with 40% normal Guinness. Bringing vol down to 1.7% To try and cash in on young people drinking less. They are not the only ones playing around with strength of standard beer range.

Just wasted an hour being given the runaround by Microsoft: I'm supposed to have access to a file for a presentation, except that it needs a Microsoft account, which I don't have until I try to use the email account to make a new account, whereupon of course it is already registered.

I now have a new laptop, so I set up an entirely different account with that, and set up authenticator on my phone, only for it to ignore the authenticator and claim "unexpected problem",

I could be an hour into preparation now. Remind me how the new Win11 is supposed to be more efficient?

Good morning from Suffolk where it's another grey and overcast start to the day - at least it's dry. Coffee has been had.

It's been a good start to the day - I've been able to snag a couple of codes from Octopus - one for a free Cafe Nero hot drink (normally all gone very early on a Monday) and the other code for a free Greggs savoury item thanks to their 'Pink Friday' promotion. The latter has a longer use by date so may be saved and used next week on my way to or from Leeds next week.

I quite sad news I did say to MrsHD that I was going to start drinking Fosters again instead on Morretti.

Easier on the wallet and easier on the liver.

That said I'll still fail at the sight of a Peroni pump.
