What is in that fluid that gets injected into people for contrast in CT Scans?
I will not be looking it up on tinternet, because that might make me feel even worse.

I would add that all the staff were very kind, and I did not get any impression that they were getting frustrated/annoyed/ exasperated in any way. It took about twenty minutes, or more, to insert the cannula.

For my recovery this weekend, I have mice pies, and a mint Terry's chocolate (orange?). I will be taking it easy this weekend as you may imagine.

And home with a decent mug of coffee to finish the final away day of 2025 with the next one not being until my birthday weekend in February. The overnight bag has been emptied of everything except for a phone charger and the jar of coffee. The remnants of the toiletries will be used at home, the toothbrush thrown away and then fresh stuff purchased next year.

I'm not really hungry as when I got back to Ipswich station I had a free hot chocolate and a hot sausage roll thanks to a couple of free codes, so all I fancy is just a light snack later on.

I have been watching Ice Cold In Alex. The bit where they are climbing up that steep sandy slope with the ambulance is much more fun if you rewind and play it back half a dozen times!

One of the greatest war films ever made. It's Mrs 73's favourite film , the larger at the end is real they did 14 takes. So John Mills ended up quite drunk in the end scene. Also Sylva Sims hated beer. The song van der Poel sings is Sarie Marais which is in fact the quick march of The Royal Marines.

Don't worry too much i've had a few CT scans recently so i'm use to the contrast dye. It will soon work its way out , just make sure you have drink well. It's not got anything nasty in it in fact what it contains is quite common.

A mild and breezy day here chez Casa Reynard, and we have escaped the rain that was forecast.

Slept well enough. Woke up curled up in a ball in the middle of the bed, having completely rolled myself into the duvet and throws. I must've been a cat in a previous life!

Anyways, I have had a gentle day as I still feel tired and a bit below par. Did the basic chores and put the non-fridgeable shopping away. Other than that, I've been listening / watching the football, listening / watching the motor racing and keeping tabs on the snooker. Currently watching Sutton Utd v Shrewsbury in the FA Cup.

Madam Rhubarb has discovered the delight that is cheese.

Wishing everyone a happy Feast of St Nicholas. Sinterklaas brought us some chocolate-covered speculoos, a box of marzipan fruits and a catnip toy.
