Does that mean that food dropped onto lino can exceed the five second rule?

Depends what is sitting on the surface of the floor, if someone has trodden in something and walked on the floor then even the '5 second rule' is out mind some people will eat/drink allsorts of muck see Kopi Luwak, (the most expensive Coffee in the world) or Casu Martzu cheese

Nothing sanitary about Kopi Luwak. Although a fellow at my post keeps going on about it.

There was almost, but not quite, sunshine while I was out for a ride this afternoon only for it to start raining instead. I was tempted to divert to a nearby train station and take the easy way home, but a check of the rain radar app showed it to be just the bottom edge of something much harder passing to the north so I carried on for the full round trip.

Annoyingly, if I'd known that I was going where I ended up passing through, I'd have taken a lock and a small bag and got my sister's Ch****mas present while out.

Coffee and a sausage roll have been had as recovery food.

Good morning from Suffolk where the greyness continues. Still damp underfoot from yesterday, but at least it's dry overhead.

Coffee has been had and it looks like I've missed yet another bin emptying day - recycling by the bin lid colour the neighbours had out this morning. I had a quick look at mine while the coffee was being made and there's plenty of space until the next round in a couple of weeks time. If it stays dry the plan is to get out for at least a couple of hours of fresh air and the domestics can wait until Tuesday at the earliest.

Best get a calendar for when they introduce yearly collections!

I have survived driving to Bath and back to do some Christmas shopping. We parked at the top of Lansdowne park and ride and caught the bus down into Bath. We were expecting to see Christmas lights up but there weren't any as we got off the bus at Queens Square so we assumed that Wilson's Street would be fully lit. Nothing! Bl**dy Pathetic! The Christmas Market had their own decorations and some shops had theirs but the streets had nothing. There were plenty of shoppers and tourists, there are even steam trains bringing people to the Bath market and what have Bath council done? Bu993r'All!:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:
