A rainy pre WAH walk to the post box was well timed as shortly after I got home it turned torrential. Clearly the weather was celebrating the lifting of the hosepipe ban. Turned windy so the recycling wheelie bin I had put out at lunchtime for tomorrows collection gad to be stood upright and moved somewhere more sheltered. Need to move it back now.

what is the garden center visit for, this time of year?
We took the father in law in six months ago.he came from Lancashire to live in Leeds Yorkshire.Over the years he made many friends, women,at the garden centre visits. They mothered him after his wife died.So we take him back to see his ladies and to catch up.This visit will be the last for a good few months,it's a long way ,for my wife to drive there and back,i don't drive. And looking after him here is a full time task,as i am finding out.

It's been a bright, sunny and mild day here chez Casa Reynard. Albeit still a bit blustery.

Slept well enough. Met up with a friend for our weekly dog walk. Did all the chores, and then decided to skip luncheon and do firewood. Got off to a good start, cut what I wanted to cut etc. Was rounding up all the cut logs when things ended up not going quite to plan.

My jeans caught on the end of a broken branch (I'm still clearing up that huge ash tree), twisted me around and stabbed me in the left shin, just above the top of my work boot. Not a scratch. Actually, quite a mess that went right down to the bone. Oww.

Hobbled home with my tools, put some clean kitchen roll on it, and a compression bandage over that, and drove myself to the quack, as it was the nearest. Unfortunately they didn't have any emergency appointments open, so I took myself off to the minor injuries unit in Ely - where I was seen straight away.

Leg's been cleaned out, I've got six stitches in (the practitioner didn't put any more in to allow the wound to drain, and a tetanus shot for good measure. I'm all bandaged up and dosed with painkillers.

Stopped off at my quack on the way home to make an appointment to have the stitches out and dressing changed (the minor injuries unit doesn't do this), but they have nothing available till after Christmas! But the lovely receptionist has booked me an appointment for next Saturday at a surgery in Soham instead.

So yeah. I'm a bit of a crock. Ah well, hey ho.

I've just had a slice of toast with a cuppa. And the cat has been fed.

I was three minutes late for my Hopsital appointment this afternoon. In mitigation, the car park had been even more busy than usual.

It was very discombobulating when one of the nurses immediately approached me at the Reception desk in the Chemo Unit. She leant forward, and spoke very softly to say, "Do not turn around, and do not look at the other people in this room. Just follow me."

Apparently some people had been waiting for four or more hours. This morning, the Pharmacy had broken their tablet making machine. All meds had to be made at a different local hospital and transported. My tablets was one of the few prescriptions made into tablets before they broke the machine. This meant I could go straight to the "second" waiting room where you get asked lots of questions, and then get the injections :secret: (one in each side of my posterior, and one in the tummy), and then receive the tablets.

Perhaps she thought that one or two people might start a riot when they saw me go straight through, if they had been sat there for hours and hours.

Old laptop finally finished updating after around 45 hours! Did make some odd clicking noises shutting down so I'm thinking the hard drive may be on the way out.
Have a need for a power bank located in position which makes having to push the button to switch it on a bit awkward. Found you can get a stay alive which should ensure it does not switch off https://thepihut.com/products/power-bank-keepalive-assembled
Reviews were a bit worrying with some saying it does not work. Not a problem with the power bank I wanted it for.
