A bright and sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, albeit with a bit of a nip in the air.

Slept well enough. Leg is continuing to improve - my ankle now doesn't hurt, neither when I point my toes, or when I pull my toes up. Wound is still seeping though, but I'm off to see the nurse practitioner tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.

Had the usual choresy morning. The two salmon sides were processed. I have one portion currently being turned in to gravlax, and the rest was turned into either individual portions or baking portions and has been stashed in the freezer. Also did the grate, the litter trays, and loaded the crockpot with the makings of this evening's supper.

Lovely luncheon of crusty bloomer, wensleydale with apricots, a banana, an orange and a :cuppa:

Afternoon tasks included topping up all the wood bins in the house, washing my hair, doing a bunch of handwash laundry and finally using the greenery I'd cut to make a wreath for the front door.

A lovely supper of cauliflower soup, followed by rigatoni with a tomato, bacon & mushroom sauce.

Have spent the evening watching the dressage from the eXcel on catch-up.

I think it was today that my daughter and teenage granddaughter were at the Excel today for the horses. The absence of security news about the event reassures me that they haven't killed each other.

But it could be tomorrow that they're going....

I had an interesting day. I finished work at around one. Then went for a walk and called at the museum to see an exhibition that I had been meaning to see. I picked up a few pieces of free literature to read as well as I was there.

It was a nice afternoon so I spent a bit of time in the small park beside the museum. The museum is in the old workhouse and the park area is really the old graveyard. Makes you realise how lucky we are to live in the modern era.

I went on the town's carol trail tonight which visits all the places of worship in the town, finishing with free hot mince pies in the COI church hall. I was marvelling at my ability to remember all the words of hymns I learned at Sunday School 40+ years ago but struggle to remember what I was doing this morning!

This is what they fed people in the workhouse. I doubt anyone was overweight.

TV has decided to die, we noticed it was playing up a couple of weeks ago but now refuses to even turn on , fuse is ok so must be internal and considering it's 15+ years old it's not done to bad .

So that's our job for Sunday as busy tomorrow

Curry's seemed to be wanting to give stuff away when I was in there yesterday.
