I'm up. Dog's out in the garden tiddling. Tea's brewing.

Morning.
Grey with a gap in the cloud with some blue and beige sky. The ground is wet.
Georgie hasn't seen us for ages as he kept following me upstairs and wanted a huge fuss when he reached the top. It must have been all since last night that we saw each other. He then spent a few minutes staring out of the bedroom window standing raised up with his front feet on the end of the bed. He is now sat looking out of the window from the window ledge.

I still can't get over how mean Bath council are in not putting up Christmas lights. I had expected the place to be well lit with coloured lights but was greeted with nothing! The shops had tried and done their bit but it was a poor show for the city.
I can remember the excitement of seeing my town being lit up when young. In those days it was just coloured lights trailing down the high street but it was enough. Apparently it is the second year that Bath have done nothing!
Well it shows how often we go to Bath. We only go there now for hospital appointments. We used to go nearly every week but since the Modeller's Den closed there hasn't been much of a draw. No lights and another nail in the coffin!

It looks like we've been blessed with more torrential rain. :rain:

Our rainy season here starts on August 14th, and lasts to the following August 12th.

We watched the programme about the winter of 62/63. I can only remember bits of it now, mainly tobogganing down the railway embankment outside my house at night in the night. We had a small street light so it wasn't too dark.
Great fun! Wearing 2 pullovers and 2 pairs of jeans, wellies and a balaclava. The embankment was full of ant hills so it was a bit of a slalom course. If you hit one the toboggan stopped but we carried on down the slope on our rears. A clear run meant that we would end up in the ditch at the bottom which was full of brambles. It was fun and we stayed out for hours, we didn't mind the cold.

That's the year I was born so remember little about it but my parents remember it well .

Good morning from a very overcast, slightly misty and damp Suffolk. Sunday is running a bit later than anticipated due to waking up, switching on the radio and then promptly dozing off again for an hour. Coffee has eventually been had.

This afternoon will be very much like last Sunday - a walk into town, along the seafront and then home. While out I'll redeem the code from earlier in the week and get myself a free large hot chocolate from Cafe Nero. A 2 litre/4 pint bottle of milk (or possibly two depending on the best before date) will also need to be picked up as Monday's shopping trip has been cancelled so I can do something more enjoyable.
