Christmas crackers were originally called ‘bangs of expectation’.

Popped out to the pub to treat myself to an early Christmas Eve drink. All the cask beers were off and the place shut at 6pm. This meant I had to pay more for a keg beer which I had to drink in 15 minutes. Like the proverbial Christmas tree after the 12th night, I'm now feeling a little discombaubulated.

Afternoon visit to Otley Garden Centre saw dad gifted two more jigsaws and the third sunflower heart feeder bought. This one looks pretty rainproof.
Salmon went down well served with french fries and pies as did the crumble of summer fruits with M&S free from crumble mix.

I've just sussed that a woman who's started working in the local Tesco I use looks like 'El Chapo'! It's been bugging me since she started as a Christmas 'temp' the other month. I've just been in now. As she was checking out my bought items she turned her head then it came to me!

Then onto the local shops to pick up coffee and milk, and a Christmas Card for MrsF - there were just three cards with 'wide' on in the shop, all the same. Loads of husband ones though  - have people been naughty ?
I really hope for the sake of your remaining health that MrsF doesn't read this thread

A very cold day here in Suffolk with the east-north easterly breeze being especially biting. Managed to get out for a couple of hours on the bike without suffering from frostbite.

Quick trip round to Mum's late this afternoon to deliver the flowers for tomorrow's birthday and to leave the various presents ready for the family gathering on Boxing Day.
Only to discover that it's been put back until Saturday due to football & Ipswich having a televised match on Boxing Day and my brother in law and nephew being supporters.
Which brings in another problem in that I was expecting to eat round Mum's on Thursday & Friday and then go food shopping on Saturday, so it looks like another emergency pizza or something & chips from the freezer on Friday.

I'm looking forward to a quiet evening at home with a hot chocolate in a little while and something a little stronger from the fridge afterwards
