Good morning all, waiting for it to get light, first impressions are cold and cloudy. A high of 1° forecast for today but not getting above 0 for two days following

C o l d but plainly a lack of any moisture as no frost. Postie collecting the overlarge power bank by 11.15 apparently. Resolved the need by taking a saw to a 11 year old Lidl one. Just needed the base of the case cutting off to make it fit where I want one.

Just been looking up the local blue plaques. Something I didn’t know, Max Born, Nobel prize winner in quantum physics, was a professor at Edinburgh Uni from 1936 until his retirement in 1953 and lived in Grange Loan where he has a blue plaque. Also, Olivia Newton John was his grand daughter !

Good morning from a very cold and windy Suffolk. At least the skies are clear and the sun is out.

Coffee was a bit delayed this morning as it takes longer to leave the warmth of the duvet on days like this. While waiting for the kettle to boil I had a quick test pack of the cool bag and I think I can get everything from the freezer in there, so later on today I'll have the excitement of defrosting the freezer. If nothing else it'll keep the kitchen warm as I'll use a fan heater directed into the freezer to help melt the built up ice.

Garage sorted out yesterday. Over 20 bin bags of stuff disposed of. Still need to clear the loft area, but is has meant I've got a lot of the camping gear onto shelves, and the big stuff (tent, tarp, kayak and paddleboard) is on the floor, but at least I have a lot more room.

I need to change the QR skewer on the rear wheel of the CX bike so it fits in the turbo - won't be going out in this weather (avoiding another fractured pelvis). I at least have room for it now !

Xmas Decs (outside) to come down today.

First and second cuppas went down well.
Green recycling bin has been emptied just needs returning to its normal resting place now.

Solar panels are charging some AA batteries

Swopped with postie the power bank for the longish black usb extension lead I had ordered, only to realise plans had changed in the meantime and a shorter white one is needed instead. The black one will no doubt come in useful at a future date.

I used to enjoy cycling in fresh snow but there's too much impatient , badly driven traffic nowadays. Any nice virgin snow is very quickly compacted by the cars too.

Also, after having experienced broken bones, I prefer not to break any more!
