had to postpone my haircut because the stylist was out due to his young Son having the flu

our little family is going out to dinner for a birthday & we're on the fence about bringing a cake or cupcakes. we usually bring our own birthday cake & candles. the place we're going has some interesting deserts

I'm currently out for a ride and have picked up a slow puncture.

It's not as bad as it sounds as it happened close to a pub next to a station on my local train line and I'm currently having a lovely pint of Adnams Mosaic in the warm before the train home rather than sort the puncture 😁

@biggs682 if you were thinking of going out for a ride this afternoon, avoid the Orlingbury - - > Red House road: it's sheet ice for the whole length!
It was slightly slippery with frost & 02:30 this morning but has got considerably worse.. ❄️

my hairdresser ( mrs ck ) took over a month of reminding to cut my hair , not hard as i have a number 1 convict cut as i wear a hard hat at work

3rd phone call to sky about the aripods i had for mini ck 1 on contract as they are not holding charge .
The initial phone call i was promised a replacement as the contract hadnt ended yet .
Second call to chase up a delivery date and i was told they wouldnt replace them as the contract was due to end soon so i told them i wanted to raise a complaint as they had promised over the phone to replace them ans as they are supposed to record conversations they would have it on record .
I received an email telling me they had closed the complaint without any further information.
Final call i was passed to different departments for over 45 mins and they were just denying any information of the original call and kept trying to offer me more on my tv package free for a while which i have no interest in and told them unless they sorted out my complaint i was going to cancel my tv package when it was due for renewal .
The last person i spoke to didnt even know why i had rang and had to go though everything again but he was determined not to make any offer for replacement or repair so i told him how i felt about the customer service and hung up , he promptly rang back claiming we had been cut off !!!

No pictures sorry as I've just got home and seen this. You'll just have to imagine a pic of a half drunk pint of cold keg IPA in a popular pub that has a deserved reputation for food (we've used it for family meals quite a few times).

That was convenient, the new shower handset rail has rawlplugs needing a 8mm hole, just had to deepen slightly the hole from getting the broken screw out. Reused the top fixing screw and rawlpug as that was smaller and I didn't fancy drilling the tile which turns out to have cracked through the existing hole. Had to raid the shed for a suitable rubbery plastic item to act as a grip inside the fitting for that old screw being countersunk rather than flat.

Afternoon cuppa of tea went down well.
New TV has been set up and demonstrated along with a basic explanation of how to watch and find the channels, now left to have a play and have told mum to shout if she needs help ....

Am I right in thinking your mum was born in 1934? She's certainly experienced a lot.
