It's turned out out be a fairly sunny and not too windy day. If I'd known this earlier I'd have got myself going earlier and done what I was going to do on Wednesday before the A14 problems. Instead I've booked some rail tickets and a bike reservation for Monday to give myself a couple of options. This gave me an excuse to go out for a decent 50k ride to get the tickets printed out!

A large coffee has just been had and a snooze will possibly follow.

I have been out and bought some paint for my Pinarello. They used a scanning tool to match the colour. I had to buy 1 litre so I will have to see what other bikes need painting red.

Still does have a market but not on Tuesdays Thursdays and Sundays which probably explains the Skipton office meeting on a Thursday.
Presumably it has been affected by the arrival over the years of Aldi, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Tesco ; no doubt Lidl is looking to be there as well

Yes, we did a few, too few, years in Ilkley. Got shipped out about 40 years ago.
Grief, how time flies.

Well I did go out. I did cycle, the sun shone.
Found a variant route that was very nice.
The absence of pubs or cafes was a bit of a shame.

Wandering the lanes and hearing shotguns being fired I fell to wondering what the economics of running a shoot are.

Work completed for the week. Half day today as usual on a Friday. As I haven't been going for a walk before breakfast this week due to knackered back, I start earlier and finish earlier. This job has it's headaches, especially the wicked witch manager of the West, but the flexible hours are great.

A nice afternoon, and with a much-improved back, I did attempt a bike ride. I did about ten miles. I felt fine on the bike and I was tempted to extend it, but decided to quit while I was ahead. Cycling seems to cause me less of a problem than walking.

I've just had my Friday pie and chips. Time to relax for the evening, and listen to the boyracers :gun:

It's been a lovely and mostly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, albeit pretty damp and squelchy after yesterday.

Slept well enough. Not brilliantly, but better. Had a kitchen morning today, using yesterday's YS buys plus an array of my 15p veggies to make a big pot of Scotch broth and a beef ragu.

Lovely luncheon of a chunk of Melton Mowbray pork pie, then seeded sourdough with smoked cheese & salami, plus an apple, an orange and a :cuppa:

Early afternoon was taken up by the usual chores, plus some extra stuff to get ahead as I'm away stewarding at a cat show tomorrow. That done, it was off to Littleport to get my leg seen to by the nurse. She was SO impressed with how it's healed up (she removed the scab, and it's all nice pink skin under there), and as a result, after five and a half weeks, I've *finally* been signed off! :wahhey:

That said, I still need to care for the wound until it's finished healing, and if I've any concerns, I'm to go back. Still, it looks like it'll heal without much in the way of scarring, and so I'm pleased. And I gave back the supply of Inadine, as I'm never going to use it. I've graduated to a much lighter dressing with a moisturizing gauze thing underneath, so a lot more comfy too. The only issue I've got now is my back and hips being hurty, as I've been walking wonky.

While I was out, I drove to town and picked up the cat litter in B&M that I didn't get around to buying yesterday, and I popped into Waitrose to buy some garlic, as I've run out. Rare for me to run out of anything, but I just lost track - I thought I still had a whole bulb, but didn't.

Home to a lovely supper of Scotch broth and a bolognese pasta bake.

Now just sat by the fire watching the snooker.
