gas station fire? that could have been worse

A soggy, chilly and very squelchy day here chez Casa Reynard, though it did stop raining some point around half 3.

Slept well enough compared to recently, but I feel so tired and depressed. Zipped through the chores rather quickly on account of it hosing it down. Now if they made scuba flippers fitted with running spikes, those'd have been perfect to navigate the drive / path between the front door and utility room / garage. I got a bit soggy.

A lovely luncheon of the last of the sourdough bread, plus a slice of crusty bloomer, the former with homemade gravlax and the latter with ossau-iraty cheese. Plus an apple, an orange and a :cuppa:

After, I splooshed into town to run a few errands. Did some banking, then acquired a bunch of bananas, a tank full of petrol for the car and a nice bunch of white roses, all from Mr Tesco.

I also acquired, on yellow sticker, three large boxes of assorted crackers, a packet of spaghetti, a pack of antibacterial wipes, two pairs of thermal socks, a box with 210 PG tips tea bags and 2kg of Iams cat crunchies.

And in further tea-related news (and of interest to @deptfordmarmoset), Tesco Ely *finally* has their own brand gold and red label leaf teas back in stock after a hiatus of about 8 months. :wahhey:

Fabby supper of vegetable soup, then a hot panini roll with the last of the lamb breast, plus some home made onion & sprout bhajis with a mint & garlic yoghurt dip. :hun:

A quiet evening is planned, but I do have to design and print a greetings card.

Evening I know A14 doesn't go to Southampton.

It took me 1hr 45 mins to get from Home to Silverstone leaving at 6.45 am 😞

What's the roads like in that direction? Anything I should be aware of? I'm driving down to Winchester on Thursday, and to Bracknell next Saturday.

Once the rain had finally cleared I finally got out for just over an hour's round trip walk to Morrisons for a loaf of bread and some milk. Cold, breezy and very squelchy underfoot taking the bridleway cut through but a much needed breath of fresh air having been cooped up indoors all day. At least the domestics other than a bedding change have been done for another week.

My sister has re-organised the pub lunch originally planned for early December with dad & stepmother for this Thursday so that'll be two lunches out in four days for me this week. Plus possibly a liquid lunch on Wednesday if all goes to plan.

The evening's hot chocolate has just been made.
