Can't say for Lidl, but certainly my local Tesco tends to have overstock if there's an offer on, if a line is new and they don't know how much to order, or when they're moving stuff around to put in festive / seasonal lines.

I pick up in-date ham and bacon regularly as a result, and for some reason lately, eggs, on sticker.

I'd wager stocking levels is some weird combo of software, store manager and diktats from head office.

There was the time Sainsbury's thought they had solved the issue. Everytime an item was bought another was ordered. Snag was if something was out of stock so it remained out of stock.

Grandaughter (eldest)..made her first ever arrest last night. Well done, first I can imagine would always be the worst or most nerve wracking.

In other news, 9yo GD just shouted..
'grandad, the dogs wee'd in our bedroom'
I called back..
'Yeah right,. Pull the other one'
'No grandad, he really has, theres a big wet patch on the carpet'

Geoan, just as I was getting them ready for bed. Quick phone call, son arrives with his Vax 5 mins later and at it I go.
Should have got the worst of it.

How ? The door closes on him and he can't get out, he's on meds which make him thirsty, I obvs wasn't attentive enough to his needs through the afternoon. My fault.

Filled out the early part of the afternoon by changing the filter cartridges on both water jugs, having a pint of squash and a coffee and putting the recycling bin out the front of the house ready for for emptying on Monday. Then I spotted a clear patch on the rain radar so on with the shoes and a walk into town despite the damp and miserable conditions for some fresh air and to cash in the hot drink code. Thankfully the route home included some quiet woodland to allow the release of all the drinks consumed during the day.

Sod all else done for the rest of the day, other than to cook & eat tea and to put four (don't ask) Kindles on to charge.
