A grey, murky and raw day here chez Casa Reynard, with a nagging easterly breeze.
Slept really well for a change. The usual choresy morning was had, and I also took advantage of the dry conditions to do another spot of lumberjilling. More of that large ash tree was cut up into slices and thence into shiftable / splitable chunks. There is only the bottom of the stump and the rootball left, so one more go on that I think.
Had a lovely luncheon of crusty bloomer with ham, albeit half a slice was reserved for the quince and chilli jelly I made yesterday. And I have to say, it's bloody lovely. I'm definitely making that again if I can source some free quinces this coming autumn. Also had a tangerine, a pear and a
After, it was back outside to haul in what I cut this morning. I had three wheelbarrows full, with each load being a good half hundredweight or so. That done, I topped up the firewood in the house, and popped to Littleport to drop off the parental's prescription.
A quiet evening spent writing is planned, although I do have to cook tonight.
