It’s chat time of the year again. Thirty three years married yesterday. Eighty five today.

A grey, murky and raw day here chez Casa Reynard, with a nagging easterly breeze.

Slept really well for a change. The usual choresy morning was had, and I also took advantage of the dry conditions to do another spot of lumberjilling. More of that large ash tree was cut up into slices and thence into shiftable / splitable chunks. There is only the bottom of the stump and the rootball left, so one more go on that I think.

Had a lovely luncheon of crusty bloomer with ham, albeit half a slice was reserved for the quince and chilli jelly I made yesterday. And I have to say, it's bloody lovely. I'm definitely making that again if I can source some free quinces this coming autumn. Also had a tangerine, a pear and a :cuppa:

After, it was back outside to haul in what I cut this morning. I had three wheelbarrows full, with each load being a good half hundredweight or so. That done, I topped up the firewood in the house, and popped to Littleport to drop off the parental's prescription.

A quiet evening spent writing is planned, although I do have to cook tonight.

Catch 22. Trying to get an old Samsung Galaxy S4 working that has a useful zoom lens but Play Store will not open without the Google account being logged into. Google account email address page however keeps on refreshing. Resolution for that is apparently to update Chrome which is accessed via Play Store...

Mrs 73 is watching a program it looks like 20 total self centred prats on a massive ego trip. Are just running round shouting at each other , then get more of the same. From an even bigger self centred prat on an even bigger massive ego trip. Think it's call the appendix.

Appendix, not sure it serves any purpose. Best removed and disposed of

Once it finally dried up late afternoon I went for an hour's walk. As I was passing the village playing field just round the corner from home I had one of those 'I know the face, but from where?' moments, although the electronics in her car's hatch should have been a clue. Turns out it was one of the main reporters from the local ITV station having just completed an interview with Felixstowe's mayor about the Victoria Hall murder case after Steve Wright's guilty plea. The sports pavilion is named after Victoria and she was kidnapped just half a mile from mine - I remember the case well from the time.

Other than that, a very dull day to go with the weather

I enjoyed today. We had most unusual weather for a bank holiday Monday -it didn't rain

I did my usual four mile walk this walk this morning. I went for a 35 mile ride in the afternoon, my longest ride of the year so far. Surprisingly little traffic and well behaved drivers for a change.

I had a posh chicken and mushroom pie and chips for tea.
