I could really use a heater at the moment :cold:

Just had a call from the RAC 4 1/2 hours after the report and they're having to get assistance from a 'partner company ' as they can't get anyone to me - otherwise known as we don't have enough vans out.

Blimey, you still out there?

Not sure my spare parafin heater would survive the transit-by-trebuchet, but I have some fluffy fleece throws you can borrow. If you don't mind a bit of tortie cat hair, that is.

I'm one of the generation who was told at school "all that stuff we've been teaching you L-S-D and Lb-Oz forget that we've gone decimal now" I also remember my pocket money taking a massive hit in buying power..........these things were very important to a nearly 9 year old.

I remember as a 7 year old in 1968 the new, very shiny decimal coins appearing. I showed one to my great grandma, who said quote....what the bloody hell is that?! She wasn't one for 'modern things'. I remember my mum taking her a local butcher's made (full of fat, minced bones and salt 🤮) burger, which were fairly new to the UK in those days. She tried it, called it shite, then went back to her pig's trotter. 🤮 😂

Fancy if you joined a local rowing club looking for a good argument and it turned out not what you expected?

I remember when the Euro was introduced, a little device that looked like a normal calculator but could only do € to £ or £ to € and nothing else. Two friends of the family (two 70+ brothers who lived alone in a relatively remote spot) continued to use it to convert all prices back to Punts until their dying day.
