It's been a grey and very chilly day here chez Casa Reynard, thanks largely to a brisk and lazy easterly wind.

Slept pretty well for once, although still having issues with my back and butt. Doesn't seem to be quite as bad today for some reason. Leg is less hurty too, but it's all relative. I was warned I would take up to a year to recover fully. Anyways, I did the chores, and I cooked the haggis that had been lurking in the frigo.

Lovely luncheon of smoked kipper pate on toasted ciabatta, an apple, a tangerine (I won the game of Schrodinger's Pip by a score of three to zero), and a :cuppa:

Spent the afternoon cutting firewood from the stash of dry lengths that I keep under cover. It's part of my "iron reserve" but as it's been so wet, I've had no choice but to dip into it. Fortunately, the temperature aspect of the forecast is set to improve, so I won't need to be burning quite as much. Which means I can cut the wet stuff and stack it for next winter instead.

Didn't bother putting any bins out for collection in the morning, as there's not enough in any of them. I think it's been at least three weeks since I last put a bin out.

Now sat by the fire with a :cuppa: and a couple of leftover pancakes from yesterday, and watching the curling.

What is up with the net these days? I found an image of an ice dancer which I thought I would use to make a drawing from. I've got most of it done but just wanted to check some things. Can I find it again? I've got more chance of finding Shergar grazing in a field!

This is exactly why I always save / download / screencap anything I want to use.

Bet it wasn't as bad as cat farts!

Actually, have you tried dosas? They're Indian pancakes made with either a fermented rice or fermented lentil batter - no eggs tho, just water & salt. They're fabby filled with veggies, raita and a good chutney. :hungry:

Today I put a new battery in my torch and went to the toilet. Or... I might have gone to the toilet and then put... no, I was right the first time. I put a new battery in my torch and went to the toilet. Sorry, no toilet photo.

Grumble grumble...

MrsF has just been down with her laptop - "the sound isn't working. Tried everything". One of the cats walked across the touch screen - it's got a main screen and a 'half' screen above the keyboard (fancy ASUS).

As I'm looking through the device manager list, she's impatient, "give it back, I'll google". I said 'just hang on a minute...'. Anyway there is a sound device with the 'warning triangle' on it. Appeared OK, but I deleted it, scanned for changes, and it picked it up again. Restarted and 'bosh' it's back. All working.

She was impatient as she had an 'on-line' sewing video chat group to join in with and was late. I'd literally just got in from work.

I don't have any pets but I lost my sound on my PC a couple of times. The first time I tried everything to get it back but nothing worked. Then I rebooted my browser and back came the sound. The second time I knew what it was and fixed it, quickly.

Hell knows nothing like an impatient woman and a computer.
