Made it to the garage just before they closed and was rather pleased with the bill. Car passed the MOT with just 2 advisories (brake related), service done, alternator belt replaced with no other problems noted and they hadn't replaced the battery as it's still in good health (it's just my lack of use that makes it seem like it's failing), so the cost was way under what I'd budgeted for.
As I now effectively have spare cash, it's tempting to book tickets and a room for the night (anybody used Premier Inn Hubs?) in London for a singer I really want to see on her only UK gig at the Electric Ballroom in September and take the opportunity to do the rest of the Science Museum.
Overall it's been a very good day and it's now time for the evening's hot chocolate.
