Good morning from Suffolk where it's another bright & breezy start to the day. Chilly last night - when I went to get a drink just before midnight there was frost on the car's roof and the back garden temperature sensor was showing -0.5C. Coffee has been had.

The sunshine has already filled the house battery, powered the washing machine (cycle clothing this time) and has just started earning me a couple of pennies by exporting to the grid.

Once I've had a late breakfast and finished listening to the Chinese GP (on catch-up) I'm off to see mum for an hour or so and then get some food for the day.

Sun quickly vanished then a spell of rain followed by cloudy with sunny glimpses which tempted me out on a 4.7 mile Asda and M&S trek.
Ostensibly needed as I had forgot to get any bread for toasting yesterday and after todays toast only had a vey thin crust end best used with soup, and other things needed stocking up on.
Between the two it did rain and their were a couple of brief rain events on the return.
Strava tracking went a bit weird so the gpx corrected as it had added over half a mile.

At work again on my hands and knees painting angle iron for fork truck stops . Got to start eating in the overdraft for the roof repair

Pre retirement, i can't imagine the amount of 100x100x8mm angle I've bolted to the ground (we used to paint them pre fitting).
Its always bugged me that FLT drivers will physically use them as a stop rather than a guide...so they frequently needed redrilling and bolting down again. We started having better.luck with the rubberised or composite sleeping policeman style stops, they absorb more movement , needed less maintenance.

Grandkids are at their mums today, a mothers day treat for them soo I've had a free day.
Woke at 03.30...didn't get back to sleep till 06.30, up at 08.30 so not the best start.
Fasting interrupted at 04.00, gave in, had some marmite on toast and a cuppa....ah well, there's always tomorrow to restart it.
Kids fed, dressed and out with their mum at 10.00
House cleaned
Laundered bedding, out and dried, back on the bed all fresh.
Dog walked about one hour in local brickpits.
Had a chat with some litter wobbles.locally while with the dog, I might sign up if I can find days that work with the children's care.
Washed car and chammied off, just in time for what looks like showers.
Apparently grandkids have had a good dinner so the pork joint we were going to have this evening is now in the fridge for tomorrow.
Not a bad day, achieved a fair bit.

Still dry but very windy here in Suffolk.

Post visit to see mum I went along the seafront before going to Lidl. The strong and chilly wind coming off the North Sea meant very few people walking on the exposed prom, but there wasn't a car parking space to be had and I've not seen queues like today for the various restaurants & takeaway chippies for a long time.
