Evening.
It brightened up this morning so I went for a ride this afternoon. I took my Planet X 57 carbon framed bike out for a ride. I haven't ridden it for a while and thought, Ah! It's nice and dry I'll take it for a spin.
The ride went well, nice and easy and smooth riding. Not sure if the wheels have a lot to do with it.
My only carbon bike is a Planet X Pro Carbon with basic wheels. With the exception of when I used some very stiff sidewall tyres, it is surprisingly fast, comfortable and well equipped (full SRAM Rival 22) for a sub £1k when new bike.

It's been a sunny and rather pleasant day here chez Casa Reynard after a foggy and chilly start.

Only got four hours' sleep, much to my annoyance. So refilled hot water bottle and went back to bed for a nap. Not as good as proper deep sleep though, but it's better than nothing. Woke up again after a couple of hours, made myself a :cuppa: and sat in bed working on the writing. Hard to concentrate when the brain is fuzzy.

Did the basic chores, and then simply plonked myself in front of the TV with a bunch of snacks and toast and watched the horse racing.

That done, I did go out into the garden to haul in a bit of firewood. I like to stay ahead of things, especially since it looks like the weather will break on Tuesday or Wednesday, and actually, it was lovely to be outside in the fresh air. I ended up bringing in three heaped wheelbarrows of logs from the oak tree I felled yesterday. That is now completely cleared up. Wood was stacked in the garage.

Have had a quiet rest of the day, mainly watching the athletics and the Madrid e-prix on catch up.

Cooked a lovely supper of mac & cheese with leek, chicken and bacon. :hungry: There is enough for several days, so saves me a bunch of kitchen time.

I had decided to take a bit of break from posting for the past week or so. I doubt anyone noticed anyway!

Did I miss much?

Had a nice wee gentle coastal cycle today and read some of my poems at a creative writing night. I am not a natural in front of a microphone.
