Time I banked the fire for the night and took myself off to bed. I have to be up at cat show o'clock tomorrow.

Nunnight one and all xxx :hello:

Whilst the weather was miserable on Tuesday of our holiday most of the day was spent just looking out of the windows at the sea watching the tide going in and out. Whilst looking for birds I noticed a strange object in amongst the rocks. It was man made . From where I was looking at it through my binoculars It looked a bit like an old pram or cot in shape. A sort of dish with a hoop standing up at either end. I was determined to try to get a closer look but it would have to wait for better weather and for the tide to go out.
On Thursday afternoon I had a chance to try to get to the object. It was difficult getting out to it. It could be an ankle breaking walk as the beach is full of large rocks about the side of footballs. I got to the object. Half of what it was was missing . It was made of steel, half barrell shaped with a circular hoop sticking up at each end. In the centre it looked like someone had placed half an oil drum which had also half of it missing. The object was full of sea shells and sand. The hoops at either end were different sizes. One disc, the small one looked solid whilst the other was like a hoop with the middle missing. The whole thing had been in the water a long time and was corroded and covered in barnacles. I had a faint Idea of what it was but wasn't sure. It is only now that I have had a chance to look up what I suspected it was. A WW2 mk17 sea mine!

Enjoy your gig @Jenkins
Merci*

Not my usual type of thing, but well worth the trip and expense to see them. Could be even more expensive due to a flyer for another recently announced gig. Need to check hotel availability and cost when I get home.

Currently enjoying a last beer before bedtime.
