Nissan Sunderland is now talking to Chinas Chery, utilisation at Sunderland below 50%. Some sort of partnership looks essential.
Chery already owns the Nissan South Africa factory. However, any full UK takeover/partnership would certainly need a big reversing move from UK government to be viable long term.

Chery may be interested as it would mean they bypass import taxes. Nissan, despite their Renault collaboration, needs additional support and Chery might be eyeing up a cheap purchase.

I have no idea on certainties but collabartion might be a starter, them likely punting on closer EU ties or a full Brexit reversal.
Any positive outcome might need high level assurances.

Another unexpectedly sunny day it seems has been had.

Had a Teams meeting moment when it all went blank. Turned out my mistake I switched the PSU on for the wrong laptop. A good few minutes later the Teams meeting returned.

I had my first ever Teams meeting a couple of days ago. However, my laptop wanted to use my phone's camera and I couldn't persuade it to use its own camera. So I logged in again using my phone. This resulted with me being in the group twice and managed to get a meeting-stopping feedback between the 2 devices. But the most successful introductions to Teams!

It's been a warm and occasionally sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept OK, but two and a half hours short again. A :cuppa: was taken upstairs after feeding the cat, and I did a good dollop of writing - a mix of editing and producing new material. At a more decent hour, threw on jeans and a fleece and did the chores.

Chores complete, I took the strimmer out and did an hour's grass cutting. Which mainly involved weaving in and out of various drifts of forget-me-nots. The garden around the house is beginning to lot a lot more tidy.

Had a lovely luncheon of avocado on toast, yoghurt with blueberries, some rice cakes with cheese and a pot of tea.

Spent the bulk of the afternoon doing a mix of writing and admin while sat on the bed in the company of Madam Boo. Her joining me on the bed is a new thing, and it's what I missed most after losing Lexi.

Then just to enjoy the bit of sun we got, I went back out into the garden with a crate and the loppers and cut up a load of wood that's one size up for kindling. That's stuff that's between half an inch and an inch in diameter. I don't use much of it, but I was running low. Easy to see when you store firewood according to size.

Supper was spaghetti with spinach, ricotta and homemade walnut & basil pesto. Not my intended supper, but the spinach was in danger of developing language skills and so needed using.

A quiet evening is planned.
