Banana Custard for breakfast 🤷‍♂️

The reason being that, last night, I had fruit cocktail, ice cream & a dash of vappy milk for pudding then MrsPete decided she wanted something hot (me being 1st choice, obv... 💪) but Ginger Cake & Custard would be a better idea!
Hardly worth making custard for one so I used a spare banana with the rest & popped it in the fridge 🍌

Breakfast today. I normally don't eat till much later but I've just started taking chemotherapy tablets and I have to take them 12 hours apart just after meals. So eating earlier and later. It's going to be a bit of a discovery day for me: up to Guys for a chemo infusion (whatever that involves) followed by radiotherapy within an hour of the infusion. I don't think today involves any extra physical pain but there will be a lot of ''What on earth is going to happen next?'' stress.

It was nice and sunny earlier but the sky has gone a bit milky now. I still plan on getting a bike out though.

How ghastly. I hope all goes well. Guys is a good hospital so you are the safest hands.

It's all a bit of the unknown at 1st. Once you get into things it's not as fearful as it first looked. The IV bit is basically a drip given over a set time based on the drip rate for the medication. It all depends on which chemo your on it can be a few hour or like mine was most the day. It may mean like mine having IV fluids 1st , then a 2rd lot with a combo of anti sickness. Then the chemo followed a quick fluid flush.

All you really need to do is sit a nice a comfy chair and nursers keep an eye on you , at some point someone will be round with the tea and a sandwich. Take stuff to keep you occupied , like a book or earphones to watch or listen to something. Radiotherapy can be the hardest bit you maybe sat waiting depending on how busy it is and if all the machines are working. The actually treatment bit only lasts about 10 mins , all you need to do is keep still and look at the picture on the ceiling. The radiographers see to the rest and keep an eye on you all the way though.

Remember if you not sure or are wondering about anything just ask the nurses or radiographers. Over time they get to know you and it becomes that less daunting.

Thanks Tom, that's reassuring.

Good morning from an occasionally sunny Suffolk. Coffee has been had.

This morning appears to be washing day as I just about managed to cram a 7 tog duvet into the washing machine and that should be approaching the spin cycle soon, next up is the bedding changed out last week. There's not a lot else to do today so I may pop round to see Mum and check if there's anything they need ahead of me being patient transport next week for stepfather's physio and then the vacuuming may get done.

Who knows - I may even get round to doing some bike fettling!
