Fabby supper of gnocchi alla sorrentina and some home made garlic bread :hungry:

Took a portion of the gnocchi to my bestie so she didn't have to cook tonight.

I have been finding some strange things in my compost bin.

They are about the size of a broad bean, but with straight sides. The casing is bronze in colour and shiny. Does anyone know that it is?

At a guess it looks like a body of a large beetle, without legs or a head.

@Speicher you know the rules no pictures it didn't happen or exist so pictures please

The ever present gas men decided they needed to open another hole. Just it was 0100, Sunday morning.
Neighbour remonstrated with them. Their response was that it was a gas leak. That seems to permit the hour of their intervention.
But there was an oik in a van watching the area, from behind his eyelids since 0800 on Saturday?
Ah, he's only an observer now we have resources we can progress the investigation.
At 0100 on a Sunday morning?
Quiet innit, best time to work.
Exactly, it was quiet until you started digging up the road.

Monday morning, the hole has been filled but lacks tarmac.
That's a different crew mate. They'll be along after they've dealt with an emergency.
Isn't this an emergency?
Nah, found the leak and fixed it. Now a Cat3 job. Still needs 24 hour watcher, bollards and 3 way traffic lights though.
Oh and there's still gas leaking somewhere around here.

It's hard to fault or reason with that level of thought.

Good morning from Suffolk where it's another sunshine, blue skies and light winds start to the day. Coffee has been had.

I'm on patient transport duty today to take stepfather to his physio appointment following on from his hip replacement operation a fortnight ago. I need to pick him & mum up at around 11:30 and then wait around to bring them home. Don't know how long the appointment will be so I'll be taking a Kindle with me for something to do and haven't made any plans for the rest of the day.

Before that there will be plenty of time for a shower, shave and to change the bedding.
