I was reading an article in a magazine, Ride Fit. One of the bits was about healthy eating. It suggested that you drink a glass of water before a meal and then drink a pint of cold water afterwards. I'm sorry but I wouldn't be going anywhere afterwards apart from the loo!
My thoughts are. Eat plenty of baked beans before a ride. The effect of the added thrust should increase your top speed by at least 1 mph. It's the every action has an equal and opposite effect.
2. Breathing! Inhale with your head pointing forwards and exhale with your head pointing rear wards, a bit like a swimmer doing the crawl. This should also add to your speed. It might make you dizzy but just think of the gains!
